Endless Night
It was a dark night in Lavender City. The sun had long set, and the clouds covered up the bright moon. The only light provided was that of the cold street lights that shone over the empty roads. Building lights were turned off, and no individual walked down the streets. The city had a cold, empty feel that night.
West of this city, was a clear opening to where Pokemon trainers would battle. In the middle of this plain, was a log of a long time, cut down tree. Standing on this decaying log, was a small, tear-strained eyed Cubone. It looked up at the sky above it, gazing at the stars. The Cubone stood there motionless, as a single tear crept down from its reddened eye to the tip of its masking skull.
"Where has the starlight gone?
Dark is the day
How can I find my way home?
Home is an empty dream
Lost to the night
Mother, I feel so alone
You promised you'd be there
Whenever I needed you
Whenever I call your name
You're not anywhere
I'm trying to hold on
Just waiting to hear your voice
One word, just a word will do
To end this nightmare
When will the dawning break
Oh endless night
Sleepless I dream of the day
When you were by my side
Guiding my path
Mother, I can't find the way
You promised you'd be there
Whenever I needed you
Whenever I call your name
You're not anywhere
I'm trying to hold on
Just waiting to hear your voice
One word, just a word will do
To end this nightmare
I know that the night must end
And that the sun will rise
I know that the clouds must clear
And that the sun will shine
I know that the night must end
And that the sun will rise
I know that the clouds must clear
And that the sun will shine
I know
Yes, I know
The sun will rise
Yes, I know
I know
The clouds must clear
I know that the night must end
I know that the sun will rise
And I'll hear your voice deep inside
I know that the night must end
And that the clouds must clear
The sun
The sun will rise
The sun
The sun will rise"
The lonely Cubone lowered its masked head and looked down to the grass-covered ground. A single tear wept from its eye and down to the tip of the skull Cubone used to hide itself. From its small hands, it dropped its bone, releasing it from its tight grip. The bone fell through the cold air, hitting the old log Cubone stood upon and knocking off, landing on the dirt. Cubone feel to its knees as it wept from the painful absence of its mother.
Coming from behind mountains in the distance, rose the bright golden circle, the sun. Its rays chased away the lonely darkness that had haunted Cubone. The clouds began to clear from the sky and glided off to the distance. The sun's bright rays of light spread across the plain and hit the decaying log. They rose up, up the log, up to Cubone's feet, up to its chest, up to its neck and finally its masking skull.
With that, Cubone sighed. It looked down at the bone it had dropped moments ago. The pokemon hoped off the log, its feet hitting the soft ground. Cubone kneeled down to its bone and picked it up with a loose grip in its little pokemon hands. It turned around, looking up at the gleaming sun.
"I know that the night must end
I know that the sun will rise
And I'll hear your voice deep inside
I know that the night must end
And that the clouds must clear
The sun
The sun will rise
The sun
The sun will rise"
