Alright, this is actually the first time I've ever shared anything I've written over the net, so I'm relatively nervous. I don't think you neccasarily have to be a Bebop fan (which is currently my favorite anime...it and ghost in the shell) to enjoy the story. But if you are, this story take place right after Spike kills vicious, it's a dying sequence.

"Like a Rolling Stone"

Spike's vision grew more and more dim as he coughed what blood was still in his body. He was fading to black, but not before visions of a life filled with endless wandering and violence filled his minds eye. The pain was gone. He was back on the bebop preparing to give his life over to vengeance and certain death.
"To be without a home, like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone.."
No other verse could describe his nomadic life with such clarity. The words echoed within his dying ego. Fading in and out, yet still compelled to keep moving.

He saw Julia's weak smile; she would embrace death as well. He heard endless rounds of gunfire echoing through his mind.
He was staring into the abyss, and it was definitely looking back. The images of violence and discord flooded out of him with every cough, with every weak heartbeat. He came to with a hard cough. This time it was probably more tar than blood.
"These damn cigarettes will be the death of me.." he muttered in a final attempt at levity. After reflecting on these parts of his life, he crawled to a dark place to see the stars. This would be the place where he would see the final visions of his life. Smiling as widely as he could while recalling jet's stern lectures, ed's eccentricities, and the love he shared with two women, never able to be reconciled. He was dying with the people he loved, the violence and pain was gone.
"No direction home, like a rolling stone.."
These words again echoed within him again. In a state of tranquility, finally experiencing the peace and love he had always longed for, he uttered with his final breath,"No direction home, yeah, But I'm coming anyway."

See you space cowboy...
