A/N: Just a quick oneshot based during s3, e16

They'd been at each other's throats all day, since he'd found out about her past, but she hadn't been really angry until now. Before, when he'd said he knew, when he'd called her a liar, she'd been upset but not angry. It was perfectly understandable that he'd feel betrayed – she could see that – but this was a step too far. She'd approached him on the playground initially because she felt guilty and she was trying to make amends, but he'd just taken it further than he had to. Admittedly, she hadn't responded well but, really, "Everything to do with this school is my business"?! Lawson had a bloody cheek!

"What, including my sex life?" she'd hissed back. In the background, the bell rang for the start of lessons and the kids began to flow back into school around them, although both were now oblivious to their surroundings.

She thought steam might come out of his ears at that point. "If it's affecting the school, then I suppose so, yes!"

"You know what, Eddie? You're being bloody pathetic. I've told you I didn't sleep with Hordley, what more do you want?!"

"The truth!" he yelled.

"THAT IS THE TRUTH!" Rachel shrieked. "I have no interest in Stuart Hordley whatsoever!"

"Yeah, well, I don't believe you. To be honest, I'm wondering who else you've slept with, I mean, you look pretty cosy with Brett Aspinall to me, and we all know about his history!"

Rachel was so angry she could barely speak. Tears of fury sparkled in her eyes. "Fuck you, Eddie. I'm done." And, with that, she turned and walked inside, leaving a slightly (though not particularly) regretful Eddie Lawson in her wake.

He sighed to himself and went to follow her. Maybe he had gone a bit far. "Rach!" he called after her. "Rachel! Oh, for God's sake!" She turned to face him, visibly in tears. "Rachel, come on. I shouldn't have said that."

"No, Eddie," Rachel agreed, "you shouldn't. How could you? You know I would never sleep with a pupil, and I'd like to think you know I wouldn't sleep with Hordley either!"

"Rach, I'm sorry, but you can't blame me for wondering about him, can you?" Eddie muttered, grasping her by the shoulders.

"Eddie, are you blind? For fuck's sake, the only person I want to sleep with around here is you!" she blurted out, before realising what she'd said. She twisted out of his grip and stormed away, leaving him alone again and trying to figure out what the hell had just gone on.

After teaching his year tens, he went to find her for lunch and headed to her office. "Rachel!" he called, knocking on the door before walking straight in. He found her at her desk, still in tears. "Oh Rach, look; I know I've been a total prat and I want to make up for it. You and I are going to face Hordley together. I'm not an idiot, I know he's been blackmailing you."

Rachel looked up, suddenly reverting back to calm. "Eddie, I'm sorry too. You know, for lying and…"

"Just shut up and come here," Eddie told her, pulling her up beside him and kissing her firmly on the lips. "You're not the only one who's been fantasising about this for a whi
