Chapter one

Arrival

The wind on face, the salt in her eyes, Mikan loved it. She inhaled deeply. She looked down at the clear blue water and closed her eyes.

While stretching her arms, she said, "This is the life!"

But someone else disagreed. "Shut up Sakura you're making my morning a lot worse than it already is." Natsume glared at her. Mikan sneered and walked away.

It was the first of March and class B was being taken on a field trip. They rode a big yacht that was being driven by Mr. Narumi. Like he had mentioned earlier in the morning, they were going to a deserted island with no food, no clean water and no electronic gadgets. They were required to do this because the headmaster wanted to test their survival skills. When he said test their survival skills, he had meant it. It was a matter of life and death.

"Okay class were almost there," He said cheerfully.

Anna raised her hand. "But Mr. Narumi, how can you see where you're going?" Her question was right. After a few hours when mikan had said "This is the life!" A thick fog had rolled in, preventing them from seeing anything beyond the boat itself.

"Well, It's a secret," He grinned. He added, "Oh, and if anyone of you try to escape, you will either drown or get eaten by sharks."

He threw his head back and laughed. Everyone resumed with what they were doing. After what felt like ten minutes or so, the fog was rolling away and they could see a faint outline of an island.

"We're finally here!" Mr. Narumi said excitedly. True to his word, they did arrive to their designated place. It was beautiful. The waters were clear blue, the sand extremely white; thousands of coconut trees were surrounding the vicinity. Everyone was staring at the island with awe.

"Okay, everyone off the boat!" Mr. Narumi ordered. All the students got off the boat and stared at him rather bemused.

"Well off you go now…find your own places and I'll be back at the end of March!" He said happily and drove off. Everyone stared at the disappearing outline of the boat.

They all scrambled about, surveying the area. Then without warning, they all hear a scream.
