A/N: So I played Pokemon X and I fell in love Serena/Calem and I had so many ideas for a fic omg. I hope I do this pairing (and this universe, actually, as X is the first Pokemon game I've played) justice.
Serena frowned, her hands on her hips. "Calem, c'mon give me my hat back."
He stuck out his tongue, holding it higher above her head. He just wanted to flaunt how much taller he was than her now. "Reach for it!"
She sighed before trying to jump up to grab it from his hand. He was only a few inches taller, but her hat was still just out of reach. Her tongue stuck out in concentration as she tried to jump as high as she could.
Her fingers hit her hat, and she could have grabbed it had she not overshot her jump. She crashed into Calem, knocking them both onto the floor.
Calem laughed, shaking his head. "Ow."
"Sorry!" she muttered.
He smirked, placing her hat on the back of her head where it wouldn't fall off. "There."
His face was so close was to hers, she could feel his breath on her face as he laughed. She was uncomfortably aware how she was pressed against his chest, and tried to push herself up with one hand grabbing at her hat so it wouldn't fall to the floor. Serena ended up kneeling down between his legs. He sat up, still short of breath from laughing.
"Nice jump there," he said.
She looked away, embarrassed.
"Your face is red," Calem remarked.
"Oh, it is?" she asked, trying to sound casual, but she could tell her voice sounded higher than usual.
He snorted, shaking his head. "You're so weird."
She laughed, trying to cover up her embarrassment. He stood up, offering his hand to her. "Come on. We still have to get ready to go to Lumiose City to see Trevor and Tierno."
Oops. She'd totally forgotten. She accepted his hand gratefully, pulling herself up with his help. They walked down the stairs and straight into her mom.
"I heard a thud, are you okay?" she asked.
"Yeah mom, we're fine," Serena said quickly. "Kinda in a rush though, we have to get to Lumiose City."
Her mother pursed her lips. "Alright. Just be careful."
Serena smiled. "After all we've done so far, I think another trip to Lumiose City is nothing."
She shook her head, smiling at her daughter. "Okay then dear. Say hello to your other friends for me!"
"Will do!" she replied, running over to where Calem was already waiting by the door with his bag.
She picked up her purse, accidentally smacking into Calem. She stepped back muttering an apology. Idiot, she thought. I am such an idiot. He opened the door, clearly trying to contain a laugh. She ducked through the door out into the front yard, nearly bumping into Shauna.
"Took you long enough!" Shauna scolded. "I've been waiting for you guys!"
"Sorry," they both said.
Shauna rolled her eyes. "Let's just go."
"I'm gonna go get my bike I'll be right back," Calem said, taking off at a run to his house next door.
"What took you guys so long anyways?" Shauna asked.
"Oh, Calem took my hat and then my mom stopped us on the way out," Serena replied.
Shauna shrugged, walking over to where she'd parked her bike next to Serena's by her mother's Rhyhorn who opened its eyes sleepily, before yawning and going back to sleep. "Well at least you're out now. It'll take forever to get to Lumiose City on our bikes it's too bad we couldn't get started before."
Calem came back, already on his bike. "You guys ready?" he asked.
Shauna and Serena nodded, both getting on their bikes.
"Let's go!" Shauna said.
