Prison Friend

"Ah…what I would give for some sake…" Morgan Fey bemoaned as she was in her cell, reading another mystery novel. It had been almost two years since the former Mystic Morgan was tried as an accessory to the murder of Dr. Turner. When she first was incarcerated, she was understandably bitter, and missing her beloved daughter. She quickly made friends with her 'desperate mother' story, even befriending a few of the guards.

"Sorry we don't have any sake, Ms. Fey. But you do have letters." A young female security guard informed her. This one was a new face, a fresh-out-of-college hopeful, and often turned to Morgan for advice. Morgan took a particular liking to this young woman, as she reminded her of Pearl.

"Well, well, hello, Heather. Who could possibly write to me?"

"You'll be happy to know that your little girl wrote a letter to you."

Morgan was ecstatic to hear from her beloved Pearl. "You said I had another letter?"

"Yes, from the Prison Pen Pal Program. You got a response from an Old-something."

"Thank You Heather, I will read and response accordingly."

"You know, that's the first time I've seen you smile since I've worked here. Well, take care."

Morgan ripped open the letter from Pearl first, tears in her eyes as she read the words.

Dear Mother,

I know that it's been awhile since we've seen one another, but I miss you immensely. Don't worry though; Mystic Maya and Mr. Nick are taking good care of me. I made you something in class today. It's a picture I drew. My teacher says that I have potential to be an artist if I work hard. I'm eating my vegetables and behaving like you taught me. Please respond soon.

Forever your daughter,

Pearl

Placing a delicate hand to her heart and tried to hold back her bitterness about her daughter's close relationship with Maya and Phoenix Wright. Maya may be her niece, but she held a special hatred for the young woman, even more so than the hatred he had for Mimi Miney and Phoenix Wright. How was she to respond to this letter without letting on that she hated her daughter's caretakers?

To take her mind off the impending response, she looked at the other letter. The return address was to a Ms. Wendy Oldbag. This was she was reduced to for an outside companion that was not family related? She sighed heavily and decided to read the letter.

Dear Ms. Fey,

Normally I wouldn't have considered trying to an inmate at all, but at the insistence of a very handsome young friend of mine, I decided to give it a try. My name is Wendy Oldbag. I work as a security guard. I love my job, not just because I protect people, but because of the gorgeous specimen of men I run into. Some of my hobbies include aerobics, leisure reading and of course traveling around the globe—or at least the country. I suppose that's all for now. Here's to hoping you agree to be my pen pal.

Wendy Oldbag

This 'Oldbag' character seemed even stranger than the clients of that lawyer Pearl was so taken with, Morgan thought. She decided to respond accordingly, First to Pearl, then to Wendy. This woman, she reasoned, was going to fun to talk to…

My second try at writing PW. I adore Wendy Oldbag and I wanted to try writing her a little differently than the more familiar "Edgeworth's Fangirl" approach. I also liked Morgan Fey. I figured she's be pretty well-liked in prison. THIS IS NOT A SLASH FIC! I was trying out an idea that Wendy and Morgan could be friends is all.
