Hippogriffy
by Draco Malfoy

*****************
A/N: A Harry Potter mock on Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky. Jabberwoky is reprinted at the end so you can compare the two poems. Heh heh!

'Twas Buckbeak in the slimy coves,
Did grunt and grumble, and in the way,
Fell Hagrid trudging through the groves.
And then he tumbled through the glade.

"Beware the Hinkypunk, giant!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Grindylow, and shun
the furious red cap-snatch!"

He took the brollie in his hand,
Long time the bird-horse cross he sought.
So he rested by Whomping Willow,
Which upon the giant it's hitting wrought.

And as in selfish thought he lay,
The Hippogriff, with eyes of greed,
Came flying through the grassy way,
And eyed Hagrid from behind an weed.

"Stupefy! Mobilcorpus!"
The magic brollie went wish-wack.
Hagrid left it tangled, and staring deep,
He bowed so deep you saw his back.

"And hast thou caught the Hippogriff,
For the creatures class today?
Oh what a day, this is no miff!"
He thundered in that happy way.

Jabberwocky
by Lewis Carroll

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble int he wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the maxome foe he sought-
So he rested by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as is uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left dead, and with it's head
He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, me beamish boy!
O frabjious day! Callooh! Cally!"
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble int he wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
