A/N: Ever since writing my story "Haiku School of the Damned", I've developed a love for writing these poems. Like drabbles, they force you to really pinpoint a thought or image.
Maiko Haiku
Four walls imprison
The wait interminable
When will I see you?
Encased in metal
Afloat on the endless sea
My dreams are of you
The painting mocks me
Side by side in black and white
Left behind again
Your touch hesitant
Your eyes all pain and regret
Until you see mine
Inside you bright light
Erupts in your eyes of gold
Hides well the darkness
Rare that smile of yours
My heart sings loud at the sight
It's only for me
Eyes glow, thin lips set
Blade in delicate fingers
Pure grace when she throws
Marked twice, face and chest
I gently trace their outline
Absorbing your pain
Robes of power off
Finally you're mine again
My lips seek out yours
Our space, ours alone
Limbs thrash and tangle, hands grip
Bodies become one
Feelings surge and swell
Reservoir unlocked now
All because of you
Like a cloak it falls
Cascading midnight tresses
Irresistible
Black on white on red
Splayed out, wanton and breathless
My need overwhelms
