A Poem For Meli
By Archy 12
A moment's eternity—
when blood beats
in our veins, and dark eyes lock
and dark eyes lock
with each-other—
Then trembling hands touch,
and fine flame flickers
between soft lips;
It makes the cheeks
glow ruby-red,
and says all that is
left unsaid.
Our chance meetings,
surely conjured
by some benevolent fairy
waving a magic wand;
For,
when I return,
there's gold dust in my eyes
and silver dust on my fingertips;
The first gives golden dreams,
the later sparkling poems.
