I woke to the sound of birds. Woke by the rustle of leaves, the faint scent of tangerine. Blinded by the mighty sun, greeted by lush green of the forest. Leaning on the nearest tree, I trembled at the nightmares I faced nights ago.
Morning always come, no matter how the night was. Farewell will arrive, despite how we dreaded it.
It seems that the birds are mocking me, the sun is sneering down at me. I closed my eyes, to make the vision go away.
But my mind won't yield.
It won't ever let me forget.
The dreams claimed me then, and I end up wishing to die.
Blood trickled down from my side. Paying no attention to it, I kept my eyes on the inert brunette whom lying on the ground, blood everywhere, lifeless.
Extending my fractured arm, intent in reaching her; to hide her from the world, to keep her smile, her happiness. Unfortunate enough, my arm gave way.
I could do nothing, nothing as I watched she fought her way forward.
