SHAWN:
"You're right," I say to Daniel. "She's a 4400." And she hasn't done half the things you have. I grab Daniel by the arm, sucking up life too fast for him to so much as slap me with his free hand. "Unfortunately, the damage is too much for me to handle on my own...somebody would notice if I stumble back to the Center and collapse for a week."
I hear a weak "yeah" behind us. Two against one, Daniel, looks like you're outvoted. Not that I'm taking votes.
Daniel's staring at me, his eyes questioning even as all color drains from his face. "This' for her," I say. He doesn't have enough life in him to nod, though I think I read somewhere that the brain is the last organ to shut down, so maybe he understands. Wonder if he realizes I lied about one thing, that I'd be drained from healing one person...but if it helps you die in peace, I'm not complaining: you're a loose cannon, Daniel, and we can't afford any of them.
Letting go of Daniel, I turn in my seat. "Give me your hand," I tell TJ.
She looks at me, wary and worried, sweat beading down her face and blood caking on her hands from her holding the wound closed earlier. A weak nod, half a nod really, and she holds out her hand to me. I clasp it, and pour life, healing into her.

TJ:
They can't really think these walls'll hold me here. There's nowhere they can put me. Sooner or later, they'll slip up, and I'll be ready for it.
You did what they made you do, Shawn. First they drugged us, dulling our powers, now they're using other means of controlling us. It wasn't you, wasn't your fault. You were a puppet.
I know you, Shawn. I know you wouldn't let me get hurt. Daniel was misguided, I see that now. Took me a while, but I understand why you did what you did. You wanted me to live, but the wound was bad.
Marla sent me to get the money from you, Shawn. If you hadn't taken out Daniel, she'd have sent him...and Daniel never could take any pain. He would've squealed in record time, begging for mercy, spilling every last bean we've got. Thanks, Shawn, for letting it be me here, now. NTAC's holding me for now, but they won't hold me long. They couldn't before, and they still can't. You've got a plan, I know it. Why else would Jordan have put you in charge, if he didn't think you could make plans.
I'll be getting out of here, so I'll see you soon, Shawn.
