Luffy could only watch in horror as Ace moved to stand in front of him, his back turned to accept the blow from the admiral Akainu. "ACE!" Luffy screamed as Ace was thrown forward into his arms.
"Don't scream so much Luffy, your brother is fine." Said a calm and familiar voice, "Shanks?" Luffy said as he lifted his eyes away from his brother to the man who had just saved his brother's life. The famous pirate known through the seas as "Red hair Shanks" was standing in front of him, sword drawn and having just stopped the Admiral's blow.
Ace shifted as he pushed himself off of his younger brother in shock at being unharmed. "Sorry for being late WhiteBeard! I had to deal with those annoying robot that were blocking our way." Shouted the red headed man with a glance towards his older counterpart.
All around the plaza, the new arrivals were interfering in fights and it took little time until the fighting stopped all together. Akainu looked slightly worried at the sudden arrival of such an adversary and looked back at Sengoku, waiting for his instruction.
Shanks smiled darkly at that, the hair around him growing heavier and filled with his haki as he said, "That's more than enough. If this war continues any longer, the loses on both sides will be too high of a price for you marines. If there is any guys out there that still want to go wild then... you'll be fighting me first!"
The declaration filled the air with a strained silence to be broken only when Sengoku spoke, "Very well, I will take responsibility. Tend to the wounded!" he ordered. Shanks replied with a quiet "Sorry." Before turning towards the 2 boys still on the floor behind him.
"We can talk once everyone gets on the ship right?" he said amused at the expressions he saw on the boys faces, mostly disbelief as he extended his hand towards them.
As both side took the dead and wounded and retreated to the sea for the pirates and to the remaining building of the Navy Headquarters, the news had spread across the world. "The war has ended! Whitebeard and Shanks allied to win the War!"
