I'm just a normal human living in a normal village under a demon lord. I lied I'm not human I'm a demon but don't tell the villagers, I'm trying to keep a low profile. I don't dislike humans, like most demons do, because one saved me when I was a babe. He knew I was a demon but cared for me like his own. In return I protected his family from a demon attack. When I learned that all the attacks happened because I went into heat I left. I left. I stumbled upon this village and the villagers took me in thinking I was a homeless woman. Now you're probably wondering what I do when I go into heat at the village. I leave a week before I know it is coming. I can tell when I start getting sleepier so I have seven days to find a spot and wait there for the month before coming back.
I find it amusing and ironic that the two species that hate each other have the same in heat month. Every six months cat demons and dog demons go into heat. That is the only thing that scares me about living in a dog lords' village. It scares me because if he decides to find a mate I might be his target, and I don't want to have a mate any time soon. I have always heard from cat demons that dog demons are perverted bastards that like to take advantage of weakened cat. I do not personally believe them because cat demons like to make up things about dog demons to make younger cat demons instantly scared of them or hate them. That's probably why I'm not scared of dog demons like I'm suppose to be. However, I don't have to worry about that since it won't happen for six months.
I was sitting in front my house minding my business, soaking up the sun when my friend Ai came and decided to block my sun.
"Hey, Ai you're in my light, move" I said playfully batting at her leg trying to get her to move. She did not however and she did not giggle either. I opened my eyes only to see her with tears in her eyes. I gave her a suspicious look. "What's going on Ai, why are you crying?" I asked sitting up. She looked at me with very sad eyes before taking a deep breath.
"Star the-the village has chosen you as the representative for village and want you to go to the demon lord's castle and ask him for some more time to get the grain to him" Ai said quietly hugged me. I looked at her with wide eyes and twitched in annoyance from her hugging me. I don't even get a say in this? I mean damn what do they want from me, shouldn't I have at least been asked if I wanted to represent instead of being told.
"Why me?" I asked and she seemed to freeze. She paused her crying for a moment and looked up at me. She seemed to hesitate before answering me.
"um t-they said that they believed you were the strongest person who wouldn't cower from the demon lord since you seem able to kill lower demons so easily" she said but I wasn't convinced but I had no choice in the matter. With a sigh I pushed her away.
"I'll do it but if I don't come back be ready to see him soon after. Oh, and next time don't touch me, you know how I feel about touching" I said walking off to my hut. Getting there was going to take some time if I don't hurry. I knew if I went as fast as I could and as soon as I could I could get there by dusk. Hopefully he is awake by then. After packing some water, and my sword, I took off into the forest towards where I had been the demon's castle was. If only I had know what was in store for me when I get there I might have just left the village to be destroyed.
Being a cat demon has its' advantages. For one we have great eyesight, hearing, agility, and flexibility. So using the trees I made my voyage faster and safer. I sprinted from tree to tree by letting some of my demonic power out and sending it to my legs. Down side to that is my ears and tail came out even with the slightest amount of demonic aura. My scent also comes out when I let my demonic powers out so there might be a welcome party when I get there. I simply smirked at the thought and sighed.
After a long journey I arrived at the castle around dusk. Like I thought, I was greeted with swords and spears in my face. I really shouldn't be surprised by this but I was at the same time.
"State your business here" One of the lizard demons said shoving the spear in my face farther. He was an ugly smelly bastard that's for sure and it didn't help that I hated lizard demons. Not as much as I disliked dog demons but they were close. I don't even hate them because they did something to my family; I just was born to hate them. I do not fear dog demons like the rest of my species however. I was about to say something but then a sudden shrill voice squawked out near by. I look down and saw a toad demon. Does this dog lord have every species of demons that dislike the cat demons?
"What is the meaning of this ruckus the lord is trying to" he started before looking up at me and his eyes widened "What is a cat demon doing here!" he screamed. So much for trying to stop the "ruckus" we were making he's probably the loudest person I have ever met. After his outburst the lizards jumped back frightened. I slapped my head at the lizard demons stupidity. They had to have this toad demon point out the obvious fact that I was a cat demon when they could have smelt and saw it for themselves. First one was that I forgot to hide my aura. The second was how oblivious the lizard demon that was the closest to me was. Sighing, which seems to happen a lot, I had to speak or get screamed at by the toad again.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm a cat demon, but I come in peace. I am here as a representative for the Helo village" I spoke calmly and as kindly as I could muster since they were not on my favorite people list.
"A cat in a dog lord's village how does that even happen?" One of the lizards whispered but stopped when I glared at him. While I was glaring at the one that spoke another one came up to me and sniffed me causing the hair on the back of my neck to stand. I had to resist the urge choke the life out of him for touching me He backs up and held his nose like he just smelled a dead body that has sat there for over a year. I hissed at him for coming that close and he just backed up even further.
"She speaks the truth she reeks of human stench" he mumbled. The hair on the back of my neck stood up again when I felt the strong aura of the dog lord that lived here came at me. I could tell he was not happy nor was he in the mood to deal with this. His voice confirmed my suspicions.
"What is your business here? It better be greatly important to come and disturb my slumber" a deep attractive but cold voice spoke darkly. He sounds like he will murder someone on the spot right here and now and walk away unfazed. I lifted my eyes from the toad to bare feet, to plain white pants, bare chest, to golden amber eyes which held no emotion except exhaustion. His long silver hair just made him even more attractive in the moonlight. I had pictured the lord to be an old man with liver spots, bald head, fat, and eyes that would show lust. Never had I imagined this dog lord to be so attractive and up held. All of the female villagers always said he was scary looking and old. I wish they had been more specific on what they meant. I looked him over once more, but was startled by his sudden outburst.
"Well state your business and leave quickly before I kill" He said coldly and it also sounded like he was amused by something but maybe it was my imagination.
I glared at him for rushing me. I didn't care how much stronger he was then me I did not like being rushed "I am here to ask your forgiveness for my village, the Helo village, because our grain will not be ready till next week since they grew late, please M'lord" I said holding in my frustration and anger. He however did not for he let out a low growl of frustration and ran his hand through his bangs which now lay over his face. "Your village has always been late every year. They have asked for my forgiveness every year and since they catch me on a good day I give it to them but this year I will not. They have two choices. They give me a member of their village as a servant for the rest of that person's life or they lose my protection every time they don't turn in their grain on time. This choice will happen every year." He said glaring at me with anger.
I thought for a moment and sighed. I knew that the village could not handle not having protection since they were near cat demon territory. "I think they will choose the servant for they can not lose your protection" I said scared for my village. He looks at me then walks away.
"You will do then" He says as he is walking. I stare at the back of his head in utter surprise.
"Excuse me M'lord but are you saying that I am going to be your servant" I asked. I know it is a stupid question but it had to be said. I had a small amount of hope that he would say no but I knew it wasn't going to be true. He looked at me and glared.
"Women, you are the only one here that doesn't serve me at the moment, so whom do you think I was talking to the wind?" he growled and then continued walking. I sighed again. Well I hope the village does go into a panic because I'm not coming back. I stood there for a second and contemplated leaving but then I thought of what might happen. My thoughts were cut shot by that guy again.
"What are you doing? Get over here we are going inside" he said annoyed. I looked at him from the corner of my eye and saw he was not happy with having to wait on me. I glared at him and did not move. I am not one to be bossed around so this whole servitude thing is not going to work out very well.
"I don't feel like it." I said and in seconds he had me by my neck and his eyes were red.
"First you come here and make trouble, making me have to come on when I am tired to tell me that your stupid village is late on their grain, then you tell me you don't feel like going inside, disrespecting my authority on my land. Tell me why I should snap your neck this very moment" he growled and his hand tightened around my throat. I could think of a reason why he shouldn't kill me so I stayed quiet and tried to get his hand off my neck. He released me and grabbed my hair dragging me behind him. "Cat, you are lucky I am too tired to kill you, but if you disrespect me again I shall not think twice about killing you." He said and pulled me behind him. I mewed in pain as he tugged on my hair.
"It's because I'm a damn cat isn't it?" I said because that's how I felt. I felt like he is doing all of this because I'm a cat. I heard him chuckle dryly and I gave him a confused look, or at least I tried to.
"I don't give a damn if you were a dog demon, cat demon, or fox demon, if you disrespect me you will be killed" He stated coldly before going quiet. As we enter the castle, he pulled me to my feet and told me to follow him and ignore anyone and everyone that say anything to me. The giant doors opened and all of his servants were there. They all bowed to him then glared at me and started to whisper.
"Ewe it's a cat demon" a fox demon whispered to the girl next to her
"What is she doing here?" the lizard demon said back
"She smells like humans it's disgusting" said a voice that I could not identify.
I gritted my teeth and continued walking with this dog demon till he entered a room. I stopped outside of the room not sure what to do.
"Get in here" he stated and I entered the room cautiously. It was huge so I guessed this was his room. I saw a giant bed and looked at it with envy. Then I saw some blankets and a pillow on the ground, and realized that must be where I sleep. I then looked around for him and saw he was next to his bed. I sighed and walked over to the bed and laid in it. I heard him get into his bed and I closed my eyes sighing.
"What is your name cat?" he asked after a long silence.
"Star" I simply answered him not really in the mood to talk.
"Very well cat, you shall be my personal servant starting tomorrow. You will address me as Lord Sesshomaru, or M'lord, but if you address me by just my name you shall be killed understand" he said coldly and I just gave a brief yes. With that I could tell he was satisfied and he slowly went to sleep. I too went to sleep after a tear fell down my face. I couldn't believe I was going to be a damn servant. Let alone to a dog demon that is heartless.
A/N: So whoever read this before should read it again, I have changed a lot of things. I completely go rid of the whole cuddling and Sesshomaru being all nice. I felt it was too rushed and she was too out of character. She is supposed to be mean but nice at the same time. I instead replaced it with a scene that fits them better. The next chapter which is in Sesshomaru's POV will be changed to match this as well. I hope you guys like this version better. I also made they changes because I'm changing the plot a little. You might like the change when you find out the twist that's going to becoming.
