Hey there! I was just listening to my ipod and this song came on and I had the inspiration for this one shot. So here it is, my first one shot to the song "Miss Invisible" by Marie Digby. I also suggest you listen to the song while reading it for the full effect.
There's a girl,
Who sits under the bleachers
Just another day eating alone.
It was lunch time at Mitchie's school. And where was Mitchie you might ask? Well, she was under the bleachers, eating alone like every other day at school.
And though she smiles
There is something just hiding
And she can't find a way to relate.
Mitchie always smiled.
She looked over at the popular table and saw all the people there.
She was dying to just have one special person- someone she could call her friend.
She just goes unnoticed
As the crowd passes by.
And she'll pretend to be busy
When inside
She just wants to cry
She'll say…
Every day she walked down those hallways.
Everyone was oblivious to her.
She pretends to be happy but they don't know the real her.
They don't know she goes home every day and cries into her pillow.
Take a little look at the life of Miss Always Invisible,
Look a little closer, I really really want you to put yourself in her shoes
Take another look at the face of Miss Always Invisible
Look a little harder and maybe you will see why she waits for the day
When you'll ask her her name.
Mitchie never told anybody about her want for friends.
She wanted people to understand her.
She wanted them to take a look at her face and maybe they'd see the pain they caused.
Maybe if that one person looked at her face they'd see why she waits for him to ask her for her name.
The
beginning, in the first weeks of class
she did everything to try
and fit in
but the others they couldn't seem to get past all the
things that mismatched on the surface
At the start of the new school year Mitchie tried to get people to notice her.
They noticed her but all they did was make fun of her.
They couldn't get past what was on the outside.
She wanted them to see the real her.
And
she would close her eyes when they left and she fell down the
stairs
and the more that they joked
and the more that they
screamed
she retreated to where she is now
and she'll sing...
All throughout the year people pushed Mitchie around.
They got under her skin.
She started to fall down the stairs in a figurative way.
She started to slip farther away from reality.
Because reality hurt her bad.
Her only escape was Music.
Take a little look at the life of Miss Always Invisible,
Look a little closer, I really really want you to put yourself in her shoes
Take another look at the face of Miss Always Invisible
Look a little harder and maybe you will see why she waits for the day

Maybe if that one person looked at her face they'd see why she waits for him to ask her for her name.
And
one day just the same as the last
Just the days been in counting
the time
Came a boy that sat under the bleachers just a little bit
further behind...
It was the middle of the school year. It was just another day where Mitchie would just spend it counting the time.
Something happened during lunch though.
The boy she wanted to notice her was also sitting under the bleachers.
He looked sad.
He looked lost.
He looked like how Mitchie felt.
Mitchie sat down next to him and said "Hi. I'm Mitchie, what's your name?"
She was surprised she could muster up enough strength to say that.
She hadn't talked to anyone except her parents.
"Hi Mitchie. I'm Shane." He said
