Piper sighed as she looked around the manor. It was surprisingly empty for a Wednesday night. Wyatt had moved out a few months prior, and Leo and their daughter Melinda were on a trip with magic school, leaving Piper and Chris as the only two left at home. Chris had gone out with a few friends so Piper just wandered around cleaning things here and there. She knew Phoebe and Paige were busy with their own families and she didn't feel like bothering them.
"Hey mom." Chris called as he walked in the front door.
Piper came out from the kitchen, "Hi honey. I was just baking some cookies." She smiled, "You know how I am." Chris smiled back at her knowing that she always baked or cooked when she was bored.
Piper turned and headed back towards the kitchen. Chris was about to follow her when a few demons appeared in front of them. "Mom!" Chris yelled as he waved away the demon closest to his mother's turned back.
"What the hell?" Piper turned and blew up the second demon, leaving one standing between them and another sprawled out on the floor. She was about to blow up the third when she vanished through a portal. "Damn it!" She walked over to Chris, "Are you alright?"
Chris started shaking his head, "Yeah I'm….look out!" The demon that Chris had knocked aside was up and grasped Piper around the neck and held her close to him.
"Uh-huh, I wouldn't do that." He held her more tightly and right in front of him, using her as a shield. "I'll kill her."
Chris put his hands up in surrender, "Please just let her go." He backed away slowly, trying to show that he wasn't going to do anything and he whispered under his breath, "Wyatt."
"You're just gonna stand there little witch. I'm taking her back to the underworld. There is still quite a bounty on the heads of the Charmed ones. Especially for the matriarch."
"Oh for crying out loud." Piper held her hands up to freeze the demon but nothing happened, "What?"
The demon laughed, "My contact with you has neutralized your powers. Go ahead, try and blow me up." She did, and nothing worked. They backed up until they were in the living room and a portal opened up behind them. "Now if you'll excuse us, we have somewhere to go." He was about to step into the portal when Wyatt orbed in behind him.
"I bet you weren't expecting me to be here were you?" Wyatt said holding up Excalibur. He grabbed the demon forcing him to let go of Piper.
"Mom!" Chris yelled as she stumbled forward and he held his hands out to catch her.
Wyatt shoved the demon away from the portal holding out Excalibur, "Wait." He turned to see his mother standing up, with eyes piercing towards the demon. She held her hands up and blew him up. "I wanted to do it myself.
Wyatt put away Excalibur and went and hugged his mother. "Hi mom."
She hugged him and smiled, "You could call more often you know."
Chris smiled watching his brother and mother. He knew their lives weren't easy but with the family they had they could survive anything.
