He watched her now.
She was sitting on a bench at the park, sucking on some green snack.
Her legs swung back and forth as she stared at the sky.
What was she thinking about? He wondered.
He wanted to stop hiding behind this itchy hedge and walk over to her.
He wanted to talk to her.
He didn't know about what but anything would do. He just wanted to interact with her again.
He sounded so lame, he thought.
He was a pirate for goodness sake, how could he be afraid of talking to his own little sister?
Perhaps it was because he feared she'd reject him.
He did just leave after they finally resolved their conflict back in their home planet.
He hadn't contacted her since then.
He had left expecting there to be more interactions between them from then on but nothing.
He really was a coward.
He should have made the first move. He should have kept in touch.
But here they were, months later and still no direct contact.
He had arrived in Earth two days ago and had been following her around since then.
He did it with the intention of speaking to her but two days had passed and he still couldn't bring himself to do it.
Maybe he should just attack her like old times.
No! that was a bad idea. That would ruin everything that had come to pass.
He'd be an idiot to do that, yet he felt so lost that he actually thought about it.
He was great at fighting, a great pirate and captain, yet he pretty much was a shitty big brother.
The things he had done was something a big brother should never do.
He tried his best not to recall every punch, kick and hit he landed on her.
That was probably another reason he couldn't talk to her just yet.
He was ashamed of what he did in the past.
In his crazy quest to be 'strongest', he had buried his conscience and his feelings for his family deep down.
But she had brought them back up and now all the guilt and self-disgust piled up on him.
He felt like he couldn't face her anymore.
She probably would accept him actually, now that he thought about it.
She was big-hearted like that, his dear little sister.
But he knew he'd feel like shit whenever he remembered the things he had put her through and it would make the feeling worse if she told him he was forgiven for all of it and that she'd take him back as a big brother.
He wasn't worthy of that title yet.
Heck, maybe he should just stay out of her life now, he had brought nothing but pain for her after all.
It's easier that way, he wouldn't be able to hurt her anymore and she'd be alright without him.
He turned around and was about to leave when-
"Oy idiot big brother, are you just gonna leave without greeting your little sister? What a crappy sibling you are. And here I was not reporting you for stalking me all this time."
He froze. He could almost laugh. He should've known his sister had better senses than that. She'd known about his presence the whole time.
"See you around little sister." He said, before walking away.
"You better!" he heard her shout.
He found himself smiling, not his killing smile, but a genuine one.
He really was an idiot big brother.
Running away and avoiding her would solve nothing.
He will earn her forgiveness.
He knew it will take time and a lot of changing.
But if it was for her, he'd do it.
So that one day he can come back here and face her without shame.
And thus, Kamui began his quest to earn the title of 'Big brother' again.
