His heart ached as the battle got more intense. Thorin sliced Orc by Orc. Battle of Azanulbizar was happening. Though azog and Thror where fighting for life and death, thorin wasn't much bothered. He wanted to see his brother. He had also had to keep an eye on Trili (dis's husband) to make sure he was alive.
"Can I ever keep my promise?" Thorin asked himself. Then the horror struck him. He looked at azog who had the head of Thror in his hand. Thorin just looked at it hoping it was a dream. How wrong he was. The head got thrown/ rolled to him.
"No!" Thorin screamed angrily. Now was his time to fight. He ran to azog to fight him and hopefully kill azog for the Durin line to stay. Thorin put his shield in frog of him to defend him from the defilers blow. The shield got knocked away from his grasp. Then the sword went and thorin fell of the end onto the ground bellow. Azog hadn't finished there. He swung his hammer to where the dwarf prince's head was but thorin just rolled over away from it. A oaken branch was all thorin could use to defend himself. He grabbed it and held it like a shield. When azog hit it, thorin grabbed his sword and waited for azog to swing again. Then he cut his hand off. Azog fell to his knees holding the place where his hand had been. Azog got dragged off by two orcs but the battle hadn't finished. Thorin led the dwarves to attack the remaining orcs.
Some time had past and the battle was over. Dead bodies everywhere and only ten dwarves where alive. Thorin looked around. Not one of the others where his brother or brother in law.
"no. Please no." Thorin mumbled. He ran to where he thought they might be. Then his world stopped. Right next to each other was Frerin and Trili. Thorin fell to his knees in tears. He held his brothe close to him.
"please. Please be a dream. I don't know what I can do with out you brother." He cried. Dwalin went over slowly.
"Cousin, I am sorry. He has gone. Come on. You have your nephews and sister." Dwalin said trying to make thorin a bit happier. But it didn't work.
"Yeah. But no brother." He sighed. He kissed his brother's head on put him back on the floor. Dwalin helped him back to the other survivors. He then realised they where standing with their brothers. But him well, he was standing alone. The thought crumbled his heart into pieces.
"Let's get going." He managed to say. They all followed him. They talked but only silence came from thorin's mouth. He didn't want to talk to anyone. All he wanted was his brother back from the dead. many days had past and they reached the blue mountains. Thorin went straight to his sister's home. He knocked on the door. it slowly opened and dis looked into his eyes.
"dear brother of mine. Tell me what's wrong." Dis smiled.
"Y...your husband and our dear brother. Not to mention our dad and grandfather." Thorin said taking a deep breath.
"Trili? What's wrong with him and our other family members?" Dis asked now getting scared.
"our brother and your husband got killed in battle. Our grandfather got beheaded by an orc and our dad is missing." Thorin said gulping hard. Dis's face went pale as the news struck her. Unexpectedly, dis hugged thorin tight. Not letting him go.
"Brother please be messing with my head. Trili promised to return to me. I gave him a talisman to make him remember his promise." Dis cried into thorin's shoulder. Thorin took a talisman out of his pocket. It was shoked in blood.
"I am not messing with you head dear sister if mine." thorin said weakly.
"brother promise you will help me with fili and kili." she said.
"i promise sister. I promiss." He smiled hugging her.
