Disclaimer: Sam and I hang out on the weekends... so he gave me permission to write a story about him
A/N: I was thinking about the upcoming Season Finale and the fact that every year one of the boys nearly dies or does die and both John and Dean have made deals to save a life... So this is my lil ficlet from that.

He was a Winchester. But for as long as he could remember, he had tried to deny that simple fact, and had tried to run from everything that the connotation 'Winchester' held.
Winchesters were stealthy killers. They pee in the woods, and could live off of 3 daily meals of beef jerky. Winchester's hid their emotions, and blindly fought against evil for vendettas that were long past being served cold.
Winchesters never stay in one place or kept one name, so to never form true ties. Though he always fitted the aliases to himself wondering what it would be like to live as Sam Thaxton, Sam Trewlany, or Sam Onastazia. He dreamed of lives where he learned to play the cello, and bonded with the guys on his soccer team. Sam Thaxton's father reveled in the idea of his son going to Stanford, and threw a party for him when he got a full ride. Sam Trewlany got to star in his role of The Importance of Being Earnest instead of having to hunt a wendigo.
But he was a Winchester. Winchesters play chess with their lives. Sam Trewlany was a paper pusher who worked too hard and never appreciated his family. Sam Onastazia never amounted to anything in law school dropped out and began managing a Burger Palace.
Winchesters save the world. Winchesters stand at cross roads. Each Winchester had made this choice, in order to save a brother or a son. And as the petite white-eyed child made her over to him, Sam was resolute in his decision to keep up the yearly family tradition. Because after all...he was a Winchester.
