Same old, same old. Random one-shot from inside Sasuke's head. I keep on describing it to myself as 'Sasuke has schitzophrenia', but that's probably a bad description. Also contains many single sentence paragraphs. Blame my brain; I do.

If I owned Naruto, it would be a lot less interesting. People would spend far too much time not being idiots.

Recently, Sasuke's been hearing voices. He's not sure why, nor why it's these particular voices, but in a way he finds it comforting.

He identifies them by colour. He's not sure how that works, either, but it does.

His own thoughts are solid and black, and maybe a little too obsessed with minutiae.

The loudest voice is orange; it's the only voice that argues with him, the only voice that actually interacts with his thoughts. He's not sure what kind of voice it is, although sometimes he thinks it might be the voice of reason. It's the voice that stops him killing, usually.

There's a pink voice that encourages him. It's not very loud, almost like it's scared of him (or what he might become, maybe), but it has nothing but support in it. It's the voice that keeps him going.

There's a silvery voice that speaks only after big events. It tends to have two tones; sometimes it praises, sometimes it points out his mistakes. Either way, it's the voice that keeps him on his toes.

Sasuke may have left Team 7, but he should have known Team 7 would never leave him.

Sometimes, though, he wishes these voices would shut up; they keep on waking up the red voice.

The red voice has only one thing it ever says, but it shouts it loudly enough to reverberate around his head. Always the same words:

"Not enough hate..."

And no matter how much Sasuke wants rid of the red voice, it isn't going anywhere. Yet.

So he relies on the voices of comrades left behind to keep him from doing anything he might regret too much, as he hunts down Itachi.

And maybe, one day, he can go back and hear their voices outside his head.
