Disclaimer: I don't own Glee or Gone With the Wind. It took me a while to come to terms with that piece of information.

Note: This takes place at the end of "Nationals" when Finn and Rachel were talking in the library. In fact, the first line of this story comes straight from that scene. So yeah, credit for the first line goes to the magical (not) writing skills of RIB.

"..I loved you, and that I would've done or given anything to kiss you one more time."

They were sitting in the library. Finn was going on about his feelings for Rachel, and she'd had about enough.

"I'm going to have to stop you there." Rachel put her hand on Finn's shoulder. "You know, Finn, the last time I had a conversation like this with a boy, it was between Jesse and me. We came here so I could tell him that I was ready to have sex with him.

"Wait," Finn frowned. "What?"

"Yep. But before I could tell him, he told me that he was fine with waiting. He said that I deserved epic romance." She turned to face him. "You've never given me epic romance."

"Wouldn't you consider our kiss at Nationals epic?"

"If you mean epic failure, then of course. See, I don't think you've ever truly cared about me. I just think you have a lot going on, and you aren't quite sure about your feelings towards, quite frankly, anyone. You just know that having a girlfriend will bring up your rep, and up until now, I've been the most willing participant."

"Uhm…"

"Well, now I have much more self-respect, and I know better than to just throw myself at boys who truly don't love me for being me. Don't lie, Finn. You hate when I quote Broadway shows. You roll your eyes when I suggest we watch a musical on movie nights. I know for a fact that you can't stand all of my drama because it's written all over your face. I think the thing you hate most, though, is that I know you better than anyone else. And believe me, I hate it, too. I'm tired of you being so predictable."

"Rach, I love you."

Rachel laughed, getting up off the ground. "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. That, Finn, is a movie quote for you." He didn't move from his position on the library floor; his eyes stared up at her, dumbstruck. The first notes of a piano drifted towards them.

"Hmm, do you hear that piano playing?" Rachel asked. "It's probably Jesse. He must know I'm here. Now I'll go join him, and we'll reprise our wonderful performance of 'Hello'. You're welcome to watch." With that, she skipped merrily off in the direction of the music, leaving Finn to try and compute what the hell had just happened.

A/N: Really short, and I kind of hate it. I just couldn't get this idea out of my head, though. I believe Finn deserved to know what Rachel had been doing in that room only a year before. ;D

A REASON WHY RACHEL AND JESSE ARE SOULMATES: (I figured this out during one of my long St. Berry self-discussions.) Rachel made Finn a CAT calendar in "Hell-O". Fast-forward to "Funeral"- Jesse drew a picture of a CAT. Yes, I believe that's enough to make them soulmates.
