Fixing the mistakes of the past is not easy, but it can't be avoided. Everyone has to step up and do what they can to save what's left of their world, no matter how many obstacles stand in their way. -Based on the "Epic Pony War" from the new episode.

Her mane was ruffled and ratty, her clothes torn and smoking.

She tried to mask the sound of her excessive panting, knowing that the smallest peep could blow everything if made at the wrong time.

She squeezed her eyes shut to block out everything for a moment.

She needed to think. She needed to stay calm and focus.

She needed to get herself together if she was ever going to get home.

Home.

That word seemed so strange to her at that point. How long had it been since she had been able to call any place her home? Too long for her to remember.

Home was the place you planted your roots. Home was the place you made your friends and found your place in the world. Home was the place that no matter what happened, you could always go back to and find comfort.

She had no home. Ponyville was gone. Destroyed. It had been the first place to go, and it wasn't the last. Ever since that day, there had been no place for her, or any of her friends, to call home.

Home is where the heart is. She had heard that saying from someone a long time ago. Where was her heart now? Was it with her friends, who awaited her arrival on the battlefield? They seemed to be all she had left. They were the only ones she had left after her whole world came crashing down on top of her.

All she wanted was for the whole thing to be over, so she could find some place, any place, to call her home again. She wanted her friends to be safe, and she wanted to mend the mistakes made in the past. She had played her part in the destruction of all she ever knew as much as the rest of them. It was up to all of them to fix it.

Twilight stared over the remains of Equestria, the remains of her beloved country, and knew what she had to do.

For her friends. For Ponyville. For all those who didn't deserve to be born into a world of war and lies and hatred and pain.

For Equestria.
