"I have nothing left... after everything you took from me! From Caesar! Damn you... Damn you to hell! To end suffering for anyone else... I'll be your Donkey...".

They were to burn his corpse.

His burning flesh filled her nostrils as the smoke filled the early morning air which followed the mournful sounds of apes veiled over Lake's numb conscience. That's what worried Caesar. Was the pure numbness Lake seemed to display from her emotionless face, tears silently escaping her bloodshot eyes. Seeing her love in the state he died in broke something in Lake.

First Ash.

Her Uncle Koba.

Her Parents.

Now Blue Eyes.

She finally snapped.

A laugh coated with hysteria finally escaped Lake's lips as she fell to her knee's. The young female's laughs were soon replaced with unsettling wails of sorrow. Sobbing between screams from the sudden revelation that in just two years her loved ones disappeared like a speck of dust. Lake chuffed irritated as she slapped someone's hand away. Only to discover the ape's hand to be Caesar's as she automatically outstretched her arm for supplication and forgiveness of her sudden action. The king slowly shook his head as he responded by falling to his knee's and bringing the distraught female close to him. Caesar's golden flecked eyes were bloodshot as well from the sudden shock that took place. They both needed comfort right now.

For a split second Lake believed it was Blue Eyes who blanketed her in a veil of comfort as she returned the hug. Replacing the thought that Blue Eyes is forever gone as his burning corpse's scent continued to fill the air. Is that scent just a constant reminder to mock her?

"Not... fair" Lake's voice came out strained and broken as she clenched Caesar's fur tightly.

Lake continued to seethe violently as sobs escaped her lips. Again. And Again. From numbness then to grief. Something kept on fueling inside of Lake. It wasn't just plain sorrow anymore, but the sudden urge that craved bloodshed. Vengeance began to cloud Lake's mind quickly as her grip on Caesar loosened. Taken back to the most recent flashback of Blue Eyes' and Cornelia's display.

Lake will often wonder of Blue Eyes' final moments. What was he thinking? The both of them as innocent children who weren't expecting the downfall of their home? Or the peaceful and beautiful moments they shared, along with remembering his family one last time before his final breath.

Whatever it was... it wasn't fair that Blue Eyes was taken away from her.

The sudden desire to crave for that bloodshed surprised Lake. Her hands clenched on a knife as she would slowly walk towards the Colonel and slicing his neck open. It was decided. This was pure revenge that Lake wanted. Too much has been taken from her.

Silence fell finally.

Before Lake knew it everyone had already left. Except for herself, Caesar, and little Cornelius. She pitied the both of them more than herself. What Lake didn't know was that...

Caesar had the same thoughts in mind.
