Lovely Lily:

Prompt: Denial

Fred barely remembered when she was born, being five years older than she was. His parents had told him that his Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny had a new little one. One thing he remembers clearly at the time was being at the hospital and seeing her for the first time when parents went to go see her.

He didn't like her too much and thought she smelled weird.

When she was five, Lily kept trying to tag along with James and Fred. She wanted to see where the big boys went. She wanted to play and cried whenever Albus got to tag along. They were her brothers too and she wanted to play with them. When she didn't, Lily began to cry and throw a small tantrum.

Roxanne only went over to the small girl and put a hand on her shoulder. The eight year old, tried to calm down the five year old. "It's okay, Lily. You can come play with us."

Her smile brightened things up. Giggling, she hugged her older cousin. "Thanks, Roxanne.

Attending Hogwarts gave Fred a break from his smaller cousin, for five years at least. When Lily started attending, she was sorted into Gryffindor right away. That didn't surprise Fred too much. Her older brother, James was also in Gryffindor along with himself.

Lily did follow him a lot, however, ask a bunch of questions.

"Fred? Can you help me with my transfiguration homework?"

"Why don't you go ask James, Lily?"

The girl rolled her eyes and whined. "But I don't want too! He'll just talk and talk and I'll never get a straight answer from him!"

"Lily, I'm busy with my own homework. Go find someone else."

The eleven-year-old hung her head and sighed. "Fine," she muttered before turning to leave.

Leaving Hogwarts was the day Fred had been dreaming of since he started attending. He got away from many things. He got away from professors, lessons, homework and could start his job in Romania to study dragons, taking after his uncle Charles.

He stayed in Romania for many, many years. He wrote home often but couldn't find the time to come back home and see the family. The invitation to Victoire and Teddy's wedding came and he found an excuse. He couldn't miss that for anything.

At the wedding, he caught up with family members and friends alike. It was great to see them again after being away for so long. He got questions about why he never came home and such, but he simply said he was too busy to see them.

"James?"

"Yeah?"

Fred glanced around the room before looking back at his cousin. "Where's your sister? I haven't seen her in a while and thought I'd say hi."

James grinned and took a swig of his butterbeer. "Really? I always thought she annoyed you. I remember when she was twelve and wanted you to teach her how to play Quidditch."

Fred rolled his eyes at his cousin. "Yeah, well, she's still my cousin and want to say hi."

James nodded his head to the right. "She's over there."

Fred looked, hazel eyes finding her easily. She was standing with Roxanne, in a green dress. He blinked once, eyeing her over. The last time he had seen her, she was going on thirteen. Now going on eighteen, she was stunning. He would be in denial if he said she wasn't beautiful. She had certainly filled out in the years he hadn't seen her.

The redhead was laughing at something his sister had said to her. As Fred took a step to go over to them, another young man came over and wrapped his arms before giving her a kiss on the lips. Fred frowned. She had a boyfriend?

Of course she did, why shouldn't she?

He shouldn't have been feeling jealous either. He was her cousin after all. Fred turned away and took a swig of his butterbeer. Maybe he could have his visit without talking to her after all.

He didn't want to disturb the lovely Lily Potter.
