Hide and Seek

Disclaimer; I own nothing… I'm just "borrowing" them all for a while…

"Well, that has to be… THE worst film… I've seen…. everrrr…" Mckay slurred, his head rolling back against the sofa.

"Before this evening I couldn't understand why your kind enjoyed watching a box. Now I'm more confused." Ronon added, kicking the front cover of "Intolerable Cruelty" across the Rec-Room floor. Elizabeth reluctantly leant forward to pick up the cover.

"I don't understand. It was supposed to be good" she sighed, shaking her head disappointedly at the faces of the two Holly Wood greats.

"Mm" Teyla agreed, fighting Ronon for the jug sized glass of Athosian beer clutched in his hands. Carson, not a great movie lover at the best of times nodded, purposefully spilling a little of his Scottish Whiskey onto Mackays combats. Elizabeth and John laughed as Rodney began to rant about his athlete's foot and what damage Whiskey could do to the leather on his prescribed Combat Boots.

After glancing around the room at four very drunk senior staff members, Weir decided to put an end to their drinking. Seemed a shame really to end Rodney's rant, and more so to move away from her rather comfortable position so close to John on the sofa. Still, if they stopped now then hopefully they would at least be able to talk in tomorrow mornings briefing.

"Well, as much as the health status of your feet means the world to me, Mckay, I think we should call this a night" she began, reluctantly relocating her hips, that had previously been firmly pressed against John's, to the edge of the sofa cushion. John's face fell as he mourned the loss of her waist against his own;

"So soon Elizabeth? It's only just gone midnight" He replied, swiftly curling one arm around her waist, pulling her back towards him.

"Lieutenant Colonel" she started, using his rank to regain authority, "Unless of course you have a better idea - seeing as that was the only film the Deadalus brought last week?" She leaned back again from John, sitting just out of John's reach on the arm rest. "I'll think of something…" John began.

"And I refuse to watch Die Hard for the fourth time" Carson added quickly. Sheppard's face fell once again. Nodding, Elizabeth turned to where Ronon and Teyla had last been seen on the other side of the room. "Ahem…" She coughed.

Two guilty faces appeared from behind the sofa; a smile spread across Teyla's face as she held up the glass of beer, victorious over Ronon. "Perhaps a game then" she suggested, before downing the liquid, much to Ronon's horror.

"Ok then…" Elizabeth said, looking unconvinced. "Any suggestions?"

"Oh, I brought Hungry Hungry Hippos" Rodney smiled goofily. He was defiantly the least dignified when drunk.

"Any others?" Elizabeth added, the idea of playing Hungry Hungry Hippos sounding less than appealing.

"Oo, I know" John exclaimed, "Hide and Seek! Atlantis is perfect for it"

Elizabeth's mouth opened in shock, staring at John's kid-like face. Carson's eyebrows raised in disbelief at the Chief of Military's enthusiasm. Teyla and Ronon apparently had heard nothing from behind the sofa as Ronon avenged his glass of Athosian beer. Mackay looked deep in thought for a few moments, before declaring that Hungry Hungry Hippos could be played at a later date.

"Hide and Seek it is!" John laughed, jumping up. "I'll count first"

After filling Teyla and Ronon in on the basics of the game, all but John left the room to hide somewhere on the first floor. Covering his eyes, he began to count…
