AN: It has been I believe almost two years since I have posted anything on . I feel like I should be coming back with an HP story since that was my start but I am posting this instead. I hope you all like it and please review :)

Between two leaders.

Kara doesn't like to think about that moment. The moment where she went for what was easily given as opposed to what she had always wanted. Admiral Cain sweeping her into a kiss unlike any other was not what she had planned. She hadn't planed to feel the over powering woman beneath her. Her eyes rolling back and a large sigh escaping her. She didn't plan any of it.

What she had never planned was how fast she had fallen for Commander Adama. How with his eyes and his power he has swept her off her feet and she knew she would never hit ground again. How he would old her hand and make all the pain go away in a second.

She had never planned for the Old Man to look at her that way. For him to see the bruised skin on her neck, her swollen lips and shaking arms. To be leaving the Admirals room looking as such, she had never wanted him to see her like that. And not then. Not when the battle was so strong between the two leaders and she had pushed her self in the middle.

His eyes held despair, his eyes held his thoughts. He had lost her. He had lost the only person besides Saul Tigh who in his life was constant.

She reached out to him. Her hand shaking. Shaking still from the time spent with Cain or shaking from the moment that was upon her she couldn't decide. She moved towards him. Her eyes welling with tears only he could bring. She wanted to hold him, she had wanted to for so long. She wanted but he would not bend, he would not break, he would not allow. He quickly moved away and started his trek back down the hall. Another time he would talk. Another time he would open up and let the pain flow. There was no time now. No time for the heart ache that he really didn't understand and no time for Kara Thrace standing in the hall between two leaders.
