The city was noisiest at night, but from their vantage point atop the building's roof, it was no more than murmurs.
She's out there, Dita thought, how much longer does he plan to sit here and do nothing?!
Jima, nearly asleep by now, shifted her weight slightly against him and laid his hand on her head.
"Just rest," he mumbled. "There's plenty of time yet."
"She's out there, Jima, she's out there and who knows the damage she could do if we don't act fast?!" Dita frowned. "Jima...Jima, are you even listening?!"
He was already asleep. Grumbling, Dita curled up against his chest and closed her eyes.
"I just don't want you to get hurt."
