I sat up and yawned loudly. I must've slept in The sun was already high into the sky and shining brightly through the frost on the window. I glanced at the left side of the bed and was surprised to find it empty. It only had to be about 9 or 10AM He usually didn't get up until around noon, the lazy bum.
I pulled myself out of the warm bed and walked briskly across the room to get my robe and my slippers. The floor was FREEZING! After I pulled them on, I wandered downstairs to see if he was around. He wasn't downstairs.
Where could he be?
I wandered back upstairs and decided to take a shower and get dressed Wherever he was, he'd be back.
After my shower, I decided to make some brunch for myself and my little angel. I went to her room to find out what she wanted to eat. She wasn't there either.
What the heck?
This was starting to bother me. Where were they? They didn't leave me did they?
Of course they didn't. They wouldn't do that. They're probably just getting groceries
I went shopping yesterday.
Maybe they're out playing in the snow?
I pulled my coat, boots and gloves on and walked outside. I hoped to Hyne they weren't out here. It's too cold and the mountainous monsters had been coming closer to town lately because it's warmer in town.
I looked around, they weren't there. I decided, finally, to try the market. I trudged through the mountains of snow toward the grocery shop, just in case. The wind howled all around me, it started getting cloudy and colder as I continued walking.
I'm going to skin them alive if they're not at the store It's too cold to be anywhere but inside today! If he catches a cold, it'll serve him right, but if my angel catches a cold, I'll just kill him.
I stopped in front of the store and pushed on the door. It was locked. I looked in the window and saw that they were closed. Probably because of the weather. I sighed loudly and turned around, preparing to trudge back.
As I walked, it began to snow. I pulled my coat tighter and shivered. You know, with my luck, they'll be back at home.
I reached the front door and pushed it open. When I opened the door, I was surprised to find the bar covered in red roses.
It's February How'd he get roses? Why did he get roses? I blinked and closed the door behind me.
"Raine!" I heard a surprised voice come out of the basement. He closed the door behind him and smiled sheepishly at me. "Where've you been?"
"I was uh at the
store" I replied uncertainly. He walked toward me nervously, I could
tell his leg had cramped up the moment he had seen me. I smiled to myself
and took off my coat as I waited for his explanation. "So Where's
Ellone?"
"With Mrs Evans"
"Oh?"
""
"Why?"
"Because" His voice trailed off as he stopped in front of me.
"Does it have anything to do with the flowers?" I inquired. Laguna blinked and looked at me strangely.
"You don't remember what today is?"
"Is something special happening today?" He smiled and shook his head. I waited for his excuse. Suddenly he leaned forward and kissed me.
I could feel the coat slip out of my hands as he held me close. I really hadn't been expecting that. I mean, of course my husband kisses me a lot but that was just unexpected.
We broke the kiss and he smiled down at me softly.
"You forgot it was Valentine's Day, didn't you?" he said. I blinked.
I had I had forgotten. Oops
He grinned at me and kissed me again.
"I love you, Raine. Happy Valentine's Day."
I swallowed and pushed my tears back. No one had ever done anything like this for me before. I'd never really had any men in my life ever. It just made me realise why I loved him so much.
