A/N: This is the scene I removed from "Improvise". It turned out a little longer than I wanted it to, so I decided to branch it out. Which means I could have added more, but I've got another long standing project to work on and it really can't wait.
.
Yuri hummed as he leaned back on the windowsill, one arm folding behind his head while the other balanced a bag of pastries, bought fresh from the bakery across the street. Once he had it settled on his lap, he dug around before pulling out a glazed donut.
Before he could take a bite, he was interrupted by the feel of someone's gaze on him.
"Hey Flynn." He said, not needing to look down. The blonde was the only one who would give him any attention when they ran into each other while he ditched, so he wasn't to surprised by the exasperated sigh he received in response.
"I thought you said you weren't going to interfere." Flynn said, crossing his arms. "Also, you're skipping again."
"I wasn't. But it got frustrating to watch, so I gave them a little push." He replied, taking a bite out of the donut. "And you sound surprised. It's Special Day, after all."
He left the fact that last time he waited until school ended, he literally had to fight through the crowd of students in line, and Flynn had him sit in the corner of the bakery until things calmed down. He only got three cream puffs that day.
"A little push... you mean like when you "pushed" Leon to confess to Stahn?" The blonde shot back, narrowing his eyes.
"Why do people keep mentioning that? It turned out fine!" He asked, honestly sounding confused. He held out a cream puff, despite being a good six feet above Flynn. "Want one?"
"No thanks." He said, but caught it as it was dropped anyway, as if Yuri knew he would take it anyway. He noted that it wasn't sliced in half like usual, which made it easier to eat. "Was Lailah in today?"
"Mik, actually." Yuri confirmed, pulling out and taking a bite out of another cream puff. "Kid's getting better at cooking with heat."
"Yeah." Flynn said in response, before blinking and realizing they'd deviated from the main topic. "You distracted me."
Yuri shrugged absently, looking back in the bag and pursing his lips, as if wondering what to pick next. Flynn sighed. "In case you're still wondering, people bring it up because Stahn's arm was broken. That doesn't give the impression of "turned out fine"!"
"Sounds like it gave some kind of impression..." He mumbled around a cookie. "But better a broken arm than a broken heart, right?"
"Yuri!"
Said male groaned, turning and throwing his legs over the edge of the window. He glared down at his friend.
"Alright, I'll check on them tomorrow. Happy?" Flynn raised an eyebrow. "Ugh, I'll apologize too."
"That's better." He said with a smile. "Now hurry up and get down from there. We need to get to class and I'm not letting you get away with skipping Government again.
"Yes, mom..."
.
A/N: To be fair to Yuri, this time things really did "turn out fine". Not that he knows that, because Spada has learned not to talk to him about this kind of stuff. Doesn't stop him from pestering them about it later though, if only to get Flynn off his back.
