Percy Jackson knew that he could never stay away from annabeth Chase. Whenever he saw her, he felt as if a thousand pachinko balls were bursting in his stomach. He was bought back to the present when thunder rattled his windows.
It had been 8 months after the war. Leo turned out to be alive,( something that Percy was telling everyone for months). All was good. Or At least the others believed that lie... Nightmares from tartarus plagued both, his as well as Annabeth's sleep. The longest sleep they had was not more than three hours. Last night was particularly bad. Annabeth woke up thinking that Gaia had destroyed the world and Percy woke up thinking that everyone he held dear was dead. At first, people used to tease them for sleeping together. However, after the screams of the first nightmare woke everybody up Chiron had suggested for them to sleep together in the Posiedon cabin. Now the condition was a lot better since Leo had returned with Calipso. Who knows what would happen in the future...
They were twenty one now. College in New Rome was something that they were both excited for. Especially Annabeth. The way her eyes twinkled when she rambled about architecture stuff (which Percy had no clue of), the way she finally expressed her views to nobody else but seaweed brain... It made up for every time she was busy with some project. Currently they were having a picnic in Central park (just like the one that Hermes had ruined for them some 5 years ago). He was twirling a strand of her hair. To him, she looked worth a thousand drachmas with the sunlight falling on her. "What?" She questioned with an annoyed yet fond expression on her face. "Nothing." He smiled and said. The rest of the day was spent in peaceful silence.
Percy and Annabeth were married now, proud parents of Bob Jackson and Silena Jackson. Silena was a prodigy but could be as sweet as her father. Bob was rightly named after the peaceful titan. Both the kids loved blue food and finally Percy thought everything in his family was perfect for once.
Percy thought about the thunder rattling his windows, no wonders Zeus must be furious over some petty thing. He didn't even care if the lord of the universe himself was angry. He was too heartbroken to do so.
It had been five years now, but not had a single moment passed when Percy would have not thought of his wise girl.
Silena startled him by jumping on the bed. "What're you doing, daddy?" Percy just smiled and wiped away a tear which had strayed away from his eye. He kept Annabeth's picture back on the bedside. "I was just thinking about mommy." "You know she's in Elysium, right?" "Yes I do. " She always deserves the best, he thought to himself.
Cause life without Annabeth Jackson was barely worth living at all.
