"You're always so reckless!"

"Like you're one to talk, always rushing headlong into the battle!"

"That's different, I have much more experience with Marine attacks than you!"

"I don't need you to look out for me, I can take care of myself woman!"

This argument was a typical followup to Marine attacks, the archaeologist would chastise the stubborn swordsman about his recklessness in the face of danger and the conversation would quickly turn into a screaming match, much to the crew's dismay. She didn't understand how he could just willing take on opponents whether he could handle them or not, he on the other hand couldn't stand to be lectured by the older woman, his pride wouldn't allow him.

"Look, I'm not some little kid you have to take of Robin, I'm an adult just like you."

"Clearly not, otherwise you wouldn't be laying incapacitated from trying to take on a dozen vice admirals at once."

"I beat them didn't I?" he asked smugly. Why does she have to worry so much, I have to do this to get stronger.

"Yes you did, but at what cost? How many times can you get beaten bloody before you stop getting back up?" she asked quietly.

"I'm not dead Robin, and I'm not gonna die. I have my dream to accomplish and you guys to watch out for."

"You yell at me for worrying about your safety, but insist on fighting beyond your limits for all of us."

"I know my limits better than you woman."

"Then why do you insist on doing more than your body is capable of!? You're so irresponsible and careless, Zoro!"

"It's my body, I can do what I want with it!"

"Your a member of this crew, think about what we would go through if something happen to you because you did what you want."

"I know that Robin, I know what I can handle, and I don't need you trying to be my mom and lecturing me!"

The swordsman lay there as he watched the raven-haired woman stare at her hands avoiding eye contact after his last outburst. She appeared to be disgruntled by his last statement, he could understand why she would be upset, all he had said was the truth. I hope she doesn't get upset. She's a pain in the neck, but she's nakama and I li-" No! She would never see as me like that anyway, this conversation is proof enough.

Zoro was surprised to see Robin rise from her chair by his bedside and make her way to the door before pausing with her hand on the knob. Turning around she made he way back to him, when she was close enough she hesitantly reached out and cupped his cheeks, forcing his face up to be level with hers. He sat there not sure what her intentions were, but soon realized them when he saw her lean in and then felt her soft lips on his own. They stayed like that for a few seconds before Robin pulled away and made her way back to the door. Not facing him, she spoke before stepping out into the hall.

"I'm not trying to be your mother Zoro."

With that she left, leaving the marimo very confused and oddly disappointed.
