"Not Sakura…"
Sakura hated it all. All of it. The cards, the captors, the responsibilities, everything! Even the rain. The rain that was pouring down from the heavens and onto her. She was soaked, but not just from the rain. Her tears did a damn good job of pulling it's weight of making her wet.
Sakura suddenly stopped running. She opened her eyes to see nothing more, nothing less than water; from her tears to the rain. Sakura squinted hard. She could make out tall figures all around her, which she guessed as tears. A soft, cool breeze blew from the distance. Sakura felt it nearing her. After a few moments, she felt it blow over her, bringing something to her face. It was smooth and soft, and firm through its wetness. She did not realize she had stopped crying since the moment she felt the breeze from afar. She sniffled. She dropped to her knees and the everlasting flow of tears ran down her face once more. Sakura could no longer hear the raindrops splashing; they were replaced by her short-gasped sobs. She buried her face in her hands. Her hands were muddy. She did not realize nor care about this minor detail. Now it was minor. 2 hours ago, just 2, it would have been a major detail. Her white and pink silk and lace dress was now a brown and browner torn and ripped rag. But she no longer gave a damn. It was all for nothing. At first she thought he liked it, then they had a "shot-c.c.-mission," as she called it. She. The other woman. Meilin. Sakura hated her name. Sakura hared 'she'. He chose 'she'. Not Sakura. He being Li, who 'she' was bethrowed to. Not Sakura. Li knew 'she' since forever. Not Sakura. Li loved ' she'. Not Sakura. This all unraveled at what Sakura had thought would have been the best night of her life. Instead it was 'she's', like Li is. It was her wedding, but Li vowed to 'she'. Not Sakura.
Not Sakura. He was a liar. A liar about everything, about the mission, about his love, about her dress, everything! He was a liar, a con, a traitor, but not Sakura's. He was everything to Sakura, but her's. Sakura opened her eyes; it was a cherry blossom. 1, single cherry blossom, all alone. Like her. Sakura was not really there, her body was, but her mind was on 2 hours ago, and her heart was with Li, still. She closed her eyes. After a few moments, she felt another breeze in the distance. And before she knew it, it was blowing over her once more. Sakura felt another 'soft, smooth, firm through its wetness' presence once more. Except, it was…different. It had warmth and love. Her mind returned to her body. Sakura's heart returned to her, too…She looked up. It was Li. Sakura stopped crying and looked clearly into the eyes of the man she loved. His eyes were like her's, red and empty. Red from the crying and empty from the sorrow. Then his sweet, brown eyes shifted, it was now full of remorse and indescribable regret. It was also saying 'yes'. Sakura swallowed hard. She smiled. She need not no explanation, she had his eyes. She had him. Not Meilin. He smiled. Sakura got up and as they looked into each other's eyes, Sakura felt as though the rain had stopped. Her sorrow was not. Li leaned in to kiss Sakura, and as their lips touched, Sakura felt as though she was in heaven…then, she was. As their lips touched, as she gave in, she gave in. Her lips brushed against hi as she fell. Li caught her before she hit the ground. He knew. She was gone. He wished she wasn't. He burst into tears.
"Not Sakura, not Sakura," he whispered into her ear as he slid down to his knees in the cold, hard mud. The cherry blossom was now being floated through the air, as if some higher being was calling it. Like Sakura. And as the moments bled into the eternal chain of time, Li did not stop holding onto Sakura and whispering,
"Not Sakura…"
