Prologue
I had a feeling this day would come. I knew that after Ganondorf was dead, she would have to leave and return to her people. I knew that I would never get to see her again "So this is farewell huh?" Midna began. She looked at me for a brief second and then turned to Zelda. "Light and shadow can't mix as we all know." She continued. "But never forget," She paused trying to figure out what to say. And when she did, she continued,"that there is another world bound to this one." Zelda looked at her and began to speak. "Light and shadow are but two sides of the same coin",she stated. "One cannot exist without the other." She glanced over to me and then back over to Midna. "I realize now why the goddesses left the mirror of twilight here. It was their design that we should meet." She closed her eyes as if she were about to say a prayer. "Yes," she said. "That is what I believe." Midna looked over to the both of us. I was as if she were trying to get one last look of us before she left. She turned over to Zelda and began to speak. "Zelda" she said."Your words are kind, and your heart is true. If all in Hyrule are like you,"she paused for a moment. "Then maybe you'll do alright." She turned to the white staircase which led to the twilight realm. It shined a bright silver necklace reflected off a reddish tint from the desert sun."Thank you", she walked up the steps and then turned to me. "Well the princess spoke truly", she began. "As long as that mirror is around we could meet again." I looked back at her, trying to figure out what words to say, but nothing would come out. "Link…"she whispered. "I.." She closed her eyes and a small tear came out and made its way to the mirror. She smiled and said, "See you later." I looked over to the mirror to see that it was racked and on the verge of shattering. I turned my head back to her. She was going to destroy the mirror for good. She smiled at me with a smile that I will never forget. Soon, she began to dissolve into the portal until there was nothing of her left. At that moment, the mirror shattered into tiny flakes of glass. I collapsed down to my knees. I could feel tears running down my face. She was gone. The one person who helped me out on this whole adventure, who grew to care for so much, was gone. And I would never see her again. "MIdna..I…I.. I love you." The words I had so desperately tried to say came out only mere seconds too late. And there was nothing I could do but cry.
