Waiting on a Sidewalk

Waiting on a Sidewalk

When you're waiting on a sidewalk,

You need something to do.

Chew gum? Boring.

Video games? Why.

Text on phone, to who?

Listen to music, on what?

Looking at the ground.

Sidewalk's white-ish gray.

It's new.

You sit down.

Waiting on a sidewalk

What to do?

People watch? No one around.

Stare at the sky? Blanket of gray. Exciting.

Read a book? None around.

Look at a magazine? Didn't bring one.

Waiting on a sidewalk.

Looking around.

Waiting for who?

A parent? No.

A sibling? No

A friend? No.

A Cousin? No.

Then who?

Why wait on a sidewalk for no one?

Waiting for a bus?

A car?

A life?

No, no, no.

Then who?

True love.

A silver Volvo comes by and parks in front of the girl, sitting on the sidewalk. A very pale, white-skinned, bronzed-hair, beautiful boys get out. Walks over to the girl. They greet with a kiss, and walk to the Volvo. Boy holds door open for girl. Sweet, a gentleman. Girl gets in. Boy gets in, and drives off.

True love.

Girl was waiting for true love.

Sit down on a sidewalk.

And you true love appears in a shiny silver Volvo.
