"Curioser and curioser," I said as I walked the halls of a mansion. It was an overload of brilliant colours in glorious shades and hues. As I walked towards the end of the hallway, the hall started to twist, and, soon, I was walking on the ceiling. Now, I have done many a strange thing, but I have never walked on a ceiling. As soon as I made it to the end of the hall, I started falling. Falling and falling and falling, as if I was falling down a bottomless hole. I could start to make out the ground, fast approaching, I might add. I was just about to hit when...

"VICTORIA! BREAKFAST!" It was my mother. There is one thing I should tell you about my mother. Well, her name is Alice, and she likes jam on her crumpets when she drinks her tea. There is another thing you might want to know about my mother. She is the famed Alice that fell down the rabbit hole. She told me that it was just a rumor, but I know it is real. I can feel it, and I think that is what my dreams are about. "COMING," I reply. We have to yell to one another when I am in my room because she had a special tower room built just for me. Anyway, I get dressed and head down the stairs of my tower to get to the kitchen. I greet my mother with a great big hug and continue to the table to eat scones and drink tea.

"Now, Victoria, I have to go to Lady Charlotte Gladstone's for afternoon tea, then I have a social gala at Lord and Lady Chamberlain's manor. So I won't be home for a while," my mother informed me. This is very typical of my mother. She is always away, business, she says. "Ok, Mother," I reply. Once she is gone, I begin my hunt. My mother always told me that the famed hole was on our property, but she never specified. Today is the day that I told myself that I was going to look for it. I ran back up the stairs of my tower and grabbed my cloak and bag. It was a crisp autumn day. I searched the entire grounds of our property, from the garden, to the front lawn, to the back lawn, and everywhere. I even looked in the cellar. I decided to give up the search and take a well-deserved break. I walked into the base of the tower and started heading up the stairs, when...I saw something that I never noticed before.

I saw animal tracks. Well, more like cat prints, but tracks none the less. They led to underneath the stairs. I decided now would be a good time to follow them. So, quickly I followed the tracks and they led to a door that I could barely fit through. For being a girl of 10, I'm quite tall for my age. My mother tells me I get that from my father, along with my flaming red hair. She doesn't talk about him much. But, I digress. I travel through the door and I find myself outside. I'm in a secret part of the garden I have never seen before. My mother had made mention to me that the hole was at the base of a tree. Well, much to my delight, there was a tree! I ran to the tree to inspect the base, hoping there would be a hole. There wasn't, much to my dissatisfaction. So, I reached into my bag and pulled out my pocket watch. The hands read 12:30, time for lunch. I sat down at the base of the giant tree and pulled out a sandwich. I was just about to savour the last bite when I felt the ground beneath me give way. I let out a piercing scream as I began to fall.
