When Amy Wakes Up

When Amy Pond wakes up, she doesn't know where she is, or what has happened. All she is aware of is a dull pain in her gut, and a nagging suspicion that something is very, very wrong. She tries to gather her thoughts in a coherent manner: What, exactly, is the last thing that she can recall? She thinks long and hard, and slowly but surely fragments of her memory return. She remembers a boy- that's right, her son! Ignoring her aching muscles, Amy frantically begins to search for her son. She then realizes, to her horror, that she is completely alone in a strange and desolate place.

After searching for what seemed like hours, Amy gave up her hopeless search. With nothing better to do, she gets back to thinking. She remembers that her son is very sick, which only heightens her distress. She tries to figure out if her son being sick has any connection to her own mysterious disappearance. Suddenly, her mind begins to spin as she recalls her meeting with Sam Winchester and his brother, Dean. She remembers violence, sadness, and ultimately her own death at the hands of the short-haired Winchester brother.

Feeling utterly defeated, Amy sinks to her knees and buries her face in her hands. What had she done to deserve this fate? And her son! Jacob was his name, if she was remembering correctly. Her beautiful, sweet boy. What would he do now that the only parent he had ever known was dead? Was Jacob even still alive? Amy was normally not a vindictive person, but she decided that the hatred she felt towards Dean Winchester was perfectly justified. She wondered how Sam could have allowed his brother to do such a thing. She had trusted him! How dare he betray her in this horrid manner.

Ultimately, though, Amy realized that she had more pressing manners to turn her attention towards. She still had absolutely no idea where she was. While she was never a particularly religious woman, she imagined that Heaven would be, well, a lot nicer than where she was sitting. And if this was Hell, then where were all the demons that she had heard so many stories about? As a kitsune, she wasn't even sure if the doors to either of those realms would open for her. Thinking about such heavy topics served only to further depress Amy, so she decided to drop that particular train of thought.

Positively stumped, Amy figured that she might as well take manners into her own hands. Brushing the dirt off her faded jeans, Amy set off to try and find someone else inhabiting this vast wasteland that she found herself trapped in. Just when she was beginning to lose hope of making contact with anyone, she saw an indistinct shape in the distance. Not knowing what or who it could be, and not caring about any possible consequence, she ran towards the figure with the reckless abandon of a mad woman.
