After handing over her Miss Mystic Falls crown to April, Caroline turned round to see Tyler and Hayley staring at her. She couldn't believe how fast he had moved on. He told her he loved her, and for some stupid reason she had believed him. She thought she had changed, was no longer the girl desperate for someone, anyone to love her, but obviously not, else she would have been able to leave him without it hurting so bad. Without wanting to run back to him and tell him he was forgiven for everything, that she needed him. But she couldn't do that, she had to be strong, she had to pretend it didn't hurt and move on with her life.

She started to walk away, trying to get as far away from Tyler and Hayley as possible when she heard Klaus shouting her name. He was the last thing she needed now, and he was following her out of the Lockwood mansion into the street. Too tired and upset to argue any more, Caroline let Klaus walk her home, ranting to him the whole way about how much of an idiot Tyler was, and how much she hated him. Caroline was surprised when Klaus didn't say anything, just listened to her rant as they got closer and closer to her house.

When they reached Caroline's doorstep, she turned to say goodbye to Klaus, and thank him for listening. What she wasn't expecting was for him to lean in and kiss her. She kissed him back, before pulling away, shock etched on her face at the fact that she had enjoyed it. He was Klaus, the evil hybrid who was threatening her friends, who she should hate with every fibre of her being, and her she was, kissing him. Not only that, enjoying kissing him.

Seeing the shock on Caroline's face, Klaus stepped back, an apology forming, when he got the shock of his life. Caroline suddenly smiled, and leant in to kiss him again lightly on the lips, before skipping into her house, shouting night over her shoulder.
