Well, this is taken from my weird imagination. Is a little scene that I wished the production of The Voyage of The Dawn Treader put. As for me, is plain stupid that what Edmund feared was a sea serpent.
"Do not let it know your fears...or it will become them."
As the last words left the mouth of Lord Rhoop.
Edmund felt dizzy, he felt anxious.
He felt...cold.
He shivered.
Was it cold in the middle of the ocean?
It couldn't happen right?
She was dead. Aslan took care of it.
All he ever saw was just his plain mind.
It just couldn't happen.
But it was happening.
He felt nauseous.
Dizzy.
He felt like at any moment, she would come.
His heart was racing.
His stomach was a mess.
He was sweating even if he felt cold.
He felt unease.
'Please, Aslan, please'
He thought, closing his eyes and clenching his fists.
He wanted to throw up.
He felt panicked when he remembered her.
He wanted to run away.
He wanted to stop that feeling.
The feeling of being afraid of winter.
Afraid of the cold.
But you see, it was not the outside cold that bothered him.
No, that was over with a good coat.
It was the inside cold that bothered him.
The one that even if you put all the coats in the world it would never leave.
The one that haunts you.
The one that makes you feel weak.
Makes you feel sad.
Makes you want to end it all.
"Ice! There's ice onboard!"
He heard one man said.
'No...No!'
Edmund thought.
There couldn't be any ice.
It was the ocean for Aslan's sake.
And how could the bloody ocean freeze so quickly?
There was only one answer.
She was here.
He could hear the sailors screams, he still wasn't opening his eyes.
Then, he heard nothing.
Like the ship and the people disappeared.
But the cold grew bigger.
He was frozen.
"Miss me, My Little Prince?"
He still didn't open his eyes.
He started shaking.
He started shaking and trembling all together.
"Your family can't help you. Aslan can't help you anymore."
He shook his head.
'She's not real'
He thought.
"I am."
That's when he opened his eyes.
And there she was.
The most beautiful woman he ever saw.
Just like the first time he saw her.
He was in love with her again.
She never stopped looking stunning.
And he was still a fool.
"Here, My King."
He rexaled.
He was in some sort of spell.
"Edmund!"
A faint yell said.
"Come with me, I can make you my king."
He was following her.
The cold growing into his heart again.
All that bitterness coming back.
All that hate.
All that doubt.
All those fears.
She was coming back.
Then he stopped.
Suddenly.
Why, though?
'She'll trick you again'
A voice resounded in his head.
"No, I will follow you."
He shook his head again.
Who to follow?
'Aslan forgave you! Don't you remember your personal oath to him?'
The voice fought back.
"He's not here."
'I will not betray my family again'
His oath came back.
And tears formed in his eyes as he looked at Jadis one more time.
He shook his head.
"I'm sorry, but they are more important."
He said.
And his sword, Peter's sword lit up in blue.
'Thanks, Eustace'
He thought.
Jadis was fearful.
Edmund took the sword and with tears in his eyes he.
He killed her once more.
And all that was left was the coldness.
And he fell into his knees.
And all noise was heard again.
"Ed, you did it!"
Lucy's voice and body hugged him.
But he stood there, crying.
Feeling betrayed again.
But he wasn't going to let the bitterness come back.
'I'm sorry, love. But you and me would never worked out'
He thought as for the first time in his life he felt at peace.
The hate he used to love was gone.
And the love he used to hate was coming.
'Thanks, Aslan'
He thought.
And a roar was heard from the distance.
