Edward sat back; the sun was so calming this time of day. Some coffee and old memories and he was set for a few hours. He's mastered many things, but sitting still took him his whole life to learn.

Riiiiiiiing

Edward let out a sigh as he got up, his automail has begun to rust in its old age. He made his way to the phone and put the receiver to his head.

"Hello?" He asked, already knowing who it was.

"Ojiisan? Ojiisan, are my kids there yet?" His granddaughter, Angela asked. Edward let out a light chuckle.

"Dear, you know they always get lost on their way here. You did to." He heard Angela let out a huff on the other end.

"Ojiisan! What if they get hurt!" She exclaims, before Ed could answer he heard another voice.

"Angela, leave your grandfather alone, they'll be fine." Said the light mature voice of Edwards daughter, Trisha.

"Trisha! She got you over too?" Edward said, though he couldn't be heard.

"Ojiisan, didn't you know the guy who invented speaker phone?" Angela teased, Edward openly laughed.

"I did rockets honey, not phones." He says. Angela mumbles something about an over achiever and begins to laugh.

"Well, call once they get there. We'll be over about 5."

"Will do, love you sweetie."

"Love you to… OH! Ojiisan, happy birthday!"

"Thank you. See you soon." Edward hung up.

He made his way back to his chair, reaching into his pocket as he sat down.

"Al, if you were here…." He mumbled as he looked at the picture. In the picture Alphonse was smiling and happy, he always had been. Even on his death bed, 93 was no small feat.

"Hii-ojiichan! Hii-ojiichan! Happy birthday!" Shouted 3 small voices, down the hall. No doubt upsetting some of the stiffer people in his building.

Edward hoisted himself up yet again, but he didn't mind. Sitting still got pretty boring.
