What's up, my peeps! Here's a new series for you guys! This is something I've been wanting to write this idea for some time now, so let's see how it works out! Whenever I watch an episode of Avatar or Korra, I always think how cool it is to be a bender, and live in the Avatar world. I know that could never happen, so why not write about it! I made up a character, and they will go into the Avatar world, and become a member of Team Avatar, and change minor things in each episode, talk to the characters, and save the world with Aang and his friends. This is sort of an AU, but also not an AU. And each chapter will be an episode. If there was anything you guys would want this character to do, let me know! (The character's name is Mia.) Hope you like it!

Disclaimer: Most of the dialogue is not mine, it was written by the writer, so just know that the characters (besides the one I created), isn't mine, and belongs to Bryan and Mike. All of the dialogue that was in the episode belongs to the creators, not me. So yeah :)

One more thing, this won't be a Kataang fanfic, but trust me, there will be a lot of Kataang in it.

Enjoy!

Into the World: Prologue

After a long day of school, there is one thing that I always do: watch an episode of either Avatar: The Last Airbender or The Legend of Korra! My parents don't get that even being someone out of the demographic, I would still watch these two cartoons, but come on! There are such relevant issues and dark themes in both of these shows, that they seem like they're for adults.

Today was the same as any other day. I got home from school, sat on my bed, turned on television, and put in an Avatar DVD for me to watch. I was in the mood to watch the final episode, so I began Sozin's Comet Part 4: Avatar Aang. A classic, in my opinion. It was amazing as always, Aang fights Ozai, Zuko becomes Firelord, and Aang and Katara (my OTP), kiss.

"Mia!" my mother called.

"What, Mom?" I replied, yelling across the house so she could hear me.

"Dinner will be ready in about 10 minutes!"

"Got it! Just let me finish this episode of Avatar! I have five minutes left, and Zuko just became Firelord!"

She sighed. "Haven't you seen those episodes too many times?"

"Nope!"

"Alright, Mia. Just finish the episode and come downstairs to eat dinner."

"Kay."

I turned my head back to the TV screen to see Aang walking outside to the balcony of the Jasmine Dragon, Katara followed soon after. I squealed. "Yes! Yes! Yes! My favorite part!"

The scene played out, and they kissed! I threw my hands in the air with joy, and smiled. "Kataang for the win!"

"Mia! Keep it down!"

"Sorry, Mom!"

I looked at the credits on the TV screen, and thought to myself. Man, I wish I lived in the Avatar universe, I would totally be a waterbender, and I would give Aang the best relationship advice. I sighed. But that'll never happen. I mean they are just drawings, but one can only dream.

My eyes drifted from the TV to see a black figure standing in the doorway. What? I thought. I rubbed my eyes to make sure I wasn't crazy, and it was still there.

I got up from the bed, and walked closer to the silhouette. "Uh... is that you, Mom?"

No answer.

"This... this isn't funny!"

No answer.

Then the figure took a step towards me.

"Mom! Dad! Someone's in our house!"

No answer.

It took another step.

"Help! Help!"

Another step.

"I-if this is a prank! Please stop! What's going on?"

I started to back to the wall of my room, I looked at the TV. The credits from the show were gone, the only thing on the screen was static that made an unsettling noise.

"Help me! Help!"

One. More. Step.

Now tears were falling down my face, what could I do? I didn't know what this thing is... or what it wanted. The thing reached its hand out towards me and touch my forehead. My heart was beating out of its chest, and I felt like it would burst. More tears fell, and now my breathing almost stopped.

The figure spoke. Its voice wasn't as menacing as I imagined, but it still had a serious tone. "Your wish... is granted."

It snapped his fingers with the other hand that wasn't touching my face, and everything went white.

...

I opened my eyes to see I was in a... tent? And there were... animal skins hanging from bars that were lined across the ceiling of the tent.

Where am I? I wondered, and who was that figure in my bedroom? Maybe I should call the police... where is my phone? My hand searched through my... my blue fur parka?! What?! Where the heck am I? And why am I wearing this? It's like I'm from the Southern Water Tribe... yeah right. Like that would ever happen.

I studied the tent I was in. Maybe I passed out and this is a hospital tent? Let me go outside. I climbed out of the tent, and almost fainted.

It was cold. Really cold. There was snow everywhere, and young children were helping adults start a fire, or repair a tent. They were all wearing coats like I was, and didn't look at me or stare at me in a way that I seemed out of place. To them, I was just another member of... wherever this is.

I looked around to study the people and maybe find out where I am, but before I did, I heard someone call my name.

"Mia!"

I turned to see a girl, she had a blue coat on similar to mine, and a smile that I've surely seen before. She was running towards me, waving. Her eyes were the color of blue sapphires, and her hair was put back with a braid, that connect to a small bun, and... hair loopies.

My breathing stopped for a moment. I know this person. This person was a master waterbender, the Avatar's partner, someone with unbelievable courage. This was someone that I looked up to as a person, and she right in front of me.

My eyes widened as I said her name. "Katara?"

The girl giggled. "Yeah?"

"W-wha, h-how?"

She raised an eyebrow. "Uh... Mia? Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost..."

My heart was beating faster than I ever thought it could beat. Katara. Freaking Katara! Someone who was a main character in Avatar: The Last Airbender, a cartoon, was staring at me, confused why I was so freaked out.

I shook my head, trying to act as normal as I can, and rubbed the back of my head. "Y-yeah, I'm fine. W-what's up?"

She smiled at my awkwardness, and continued. "I just wanted to let you know that Sokka wants both of us to go on a fishing trip tomorrow. You know how he gets with food, and apparently Gran Gran's cooking isn't good enough for him."

Then came the realization. This was before the first episode, where Sokka and Katara found Aang. If I want to travel the world with both of them, I have to go on this fishing trip. I can live in the Avatar world! I don't care if this dream or not, I'm going to make the most out of this.

I smiled back, not feeling so awkward anymore. "Sure! I'd love to come."

She flashed another grin at me. "Great. Well, I'm going to practice some waterbending near the outside of the village. Want to come?"

"Uh... I need to go to the bathroom, I'll there in five minutes," I replied so I can get my barrings.

Katara gave me an uneasy look, nodded, and walked to the outside of town. I crawled back into the tent, and screamed without actually making noise (because the villagers would think I'm insane).

I'm in the Avatar world! I can meet Aang! I can meet Toph! I can meet Zuko! Oh my Spirits, I'm going to be a Kataang shipper helper! I'm going to give Aang the best advice for Katara! This is going to be amazing! I frowned. But... how did I get here, and will I ever be able to get back? What about my family? I sighed, and shook my head. I'll worry about that later, maybe I should go find Katara...

Still a little startled, I crawled out of my tent, and saw Katara's grandmother. Kanna was her name right? I walked up to the elderly woman. "Hi Kanna, do you know where Katara went? She said she was going to waterbend."

Kanna smiled at me. "Hello, Mia. Yes, I think I saw Katara over by that stream," she said as she pointed to the outskirts of the village.

I nodded, "thank you!" I called as I waved to Kanna and made my way to Katara.

I saw the waterbender standing at the edge of some ice, moving her arms in a way that made the water rise and fall based on her order. I smiled thinking how amazing this will be, and tapped on her shoulder. At first, Katara was startled, but soon after she dropped her arms, letting the water fall back into the stream, and turned to me.

I beamed. "Hey, Katara. What move are you working on?"

She shurgged. "Oh just a simple wave. Nothing too fancy," she sighed, "I wish I was a master waterbender. But of course the Fire Nation has to ruin everything, so they took all the waterbenders a long time ago."

I frowned at her, and placed my hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry about it, Katara. You never know, maybe the avatar will come back, someday. You've always thought about that, right." She looked at me, a lone tear trickling down her face. "Just stay hopeful," I continued, "and maybe this war will end."

Katara smiled slightly, and hugged me. "Thanks Mia, you've always known how to cheer me up. I'm glad you're my best friend."

I hugged her back. Now I may have looked calm on the outside, but in the inside, I was fangirling so much. I'm Katara's best friend! Well, I don't think I'll be number one to her for so long. I'm sure Aang will take that spot pretty quickly. Not that I mind, though. I mean, I always will be a Kataang shipper. After snapping out of my thoughts, I pulled out of the hug.

"So what was that move you were doing?" I asked so we could get on another subject. Katara turned back to the water.

"It's a small wave. Want me to teach it to you?"

I took a small step back. "W-wait, I can waterbend?"

Katara laughed. "Um... is this a prank? Mia, you're a waterbender," soon after saying that, she got concerned, "you know that, right?"

I nodded vigorously. "Y-yeah, sorry. I'm just a little tired."

She chuckled, and gestured me to come next to her. "Alright, just let me show you this move." Katara looked down, but was still smiling. "Maybe someday, we can learn real waterbending, and become masters. Wouldn't that be cool?"

I smiled back with the joy that her dream would become reality soon. "That would be awesome. Hopefully someday."

"Hehe, yep." We stared out into the sunset for some moments, before Katara looked back at the village, to see people start to climb back into their tents. "We should probably head back. I'll teach you that move when we come back from the fishing trip, okay?"

"Okay," I replied, even though I knew she would forget about it with Aang entering the situation. "Let's go."

After saying goodnight, to Katara, and saying goodnight to Sokka (trying as hard as I can not to fangirl when I saw him for the first time), and made my way back to the tent still bewildered at what is happening. Maybe this is a dream... welp, I might as well sleep. I got comfortable in the fur sleeping bag, and closed my eyes, drifting into subconsciousness.

Dream

I opened my eyes, to see fogs floating around me. I stood up to get a look around, and saw that same person who appeared at my bedroom.

"It's you!" I exclaimed as I pointed to the dark figure standing before me, "who are you? And how did I end up in the Avatar universe?"

The person pulled down a hood to see a regular man, he had brown scruffy hair, and a small goatee. "I am the Wish-Granter, if anyone has a wish that they are very passionate about, I am here to grant it... at a cost. You may ask any questions you would like to know."

I couldn't understand what was happening, but began with the most obvious question. "First of all, how to I get home, and what is the cost?"

His face was expressionless, like he had done this too many times. "You thought it yourself, you wanted to enter the Avatar world. I granted that wish, and that is where you are. You shall travel with Team Avatar, and interact with them, and go through the world at any way you wish. You will wake up with a ring that I gave you, every time the ring flashes green, it tells you you have entered an episode, when the ring flashes red, it means the episode ended.

"You must change one thing in that span of time. Whether it's how a character feels, a new item, anything, you must change one thing in that episode. If you don't, you will wake up in that same spot you woke up in today. You must keep doing this until the Aang and Katara kiss at the end, in order to return home. You will still have all the memories of what happened, and no time will pass in world you live in. But do not change too much, or you will have to restart just like if you didn't change anything at all. For example, don't have Zuko join Team Avatar at an earlier time that he is supposed to. That is too much of a change. Understood?"

I nodded, trying to take in all the information he just said. "Can I die in this world?"

He shook his head. "No, you will just be transported back to the beginning of the episode you started if your physical body was damaged too much."

I nodded again. "Thank you."

For the first time, the Wish-Granter smiled. "No problem, this is what I do. If you have anymore questions, you can contact me in your dreams. Good luck, Mia." Then with a snap of his fingers, I fell unconscious.

End of Dream

I woke up, and looked down at my right finger. A clear ring rested there, with tiny lights inside of it.

I smiled. "Let's do this."
