"Eh hem!" Kilo opened his eyes and instantly froze in fear. Standing before him was the face of terror itself: his boss. "I don't pay you to sleep," Edgeworth said
"You don't pay me at all." Edgeworth leered at him "I'll just go get those case files now." Kilo bolted off the couch and down the stairs stumbling slightly over the corner of the carpet.
...
Kilo tucked the manila envelope under his arm."Thanks, Gumshoe. Hopefully Edgeworth won't kill me now."
"Don't worry, kid. Edgeworth's not as bad as he seems." Gumshoe gave Kilo one of his far-less-than-reassuring smiles.
'So says the guy with the negative pay check.' Kilo looked at him sceptically. "well I've got to get back, see you, Detective!"
-Meanwhile in Edgeworth's office-
"Phoenix what are you doing here?" Edgeworth impatiently tapped his finger.
"It's about this case," Phoenix said
"I assumed as much. Phoenix, you know I can not give you ,the defense, any information!"
"That's not what I'm here for. I'm here for- Ahhhg!" Phoenix took a step foward only to trip on the carpet corner Kilo turned up when he stumbled.
Kilo opened the office door "Mr. Edgewo-" in front of him was his boss, being topped by a defense attorney ,who was acting in a very boss like manner. And his boss was just laying there in a very un-boss like way. Silently, Kilo stepped out and shut the door. 'Oh god, my eyes. My eyes,' Kilo thought as he desperately tried to oppress the memory of the office "romance" he had just witnessed.
"A dream. This has to be a bad dream. Yeah, that's right, Kilo, it's just a dream. Just a weird dream caused by all those energy drinks. I'll just go wash my face and wake up," Kilo muttered to himself as he stumbled to the men's room.
Splashing water onto his face, Kilo ran his fingers through his bangs and looked into the mirror, something he shouldn't have done. His bangs, which normally were slicked back, had perked up in a similar fashion to Edgeworth's. In the mirror, it seemed not as if Kilo was standing there, but a younger, darker haired Edgeworth. " I really should dye my hair."
"I'm back, Mr. Edgeworth. I'm sorry it took so long," Kilo said, casually opening the office door.
"It took you nearly a half hour to get that file. What could have taken so long?" Edgeworth glared at him with a look that could kill kittens.
"I-I-I am sorry, Sir. S-Some thing distracted me," Kilo stuttered, recoiling from the force of the glare.
"Well, it seems that organizing files will distract you from your lunch." Edgeworth grabbed his coat and walked to the door "I expect you to be finished by the time I return"
"Where are you going, Sir?"
"Lunch." With that, Edgeworth left, leaving Kilo alone in the office.
"What the hell is up with that guy? He thinks just 'cause he's my boss, it gives him the right to treat me like crap. I've worked here for almost a year. Can't he understand I have finals to study for? I hate him!" Kilo ranted as he organized the files. "Oh, what's this?" He picked up a thin paper back book held together with staples. "Oh, Edgey. I would never have guessed," Kilo said with an evil grin as he took a picture with his phone.
