Hermione wrestled with the roots in her garden as she tried pulling them out. It was the end of June and the weeds were starting to invade her flowers. She sat back as she inspected the rest of the plot, and realized she had a lot more work to do. She started to get up when she heard a voice say something behind her. She turned around and saw Ron Weasley, her husband, with his wand extended and pointed at the flowers. Hermione looked back and saw the weeds had vanished. She stood up and looked at Ron again.
"That would've been easier, wouldn't it have," She said, removing her garden gloves and pacing her hands on her hips.
Ron chuckles and draped his arm around her shoulders, "You really are the brightest witch of your age, Hermione," He said teasingly, then planted a kiss on her cheek. She playfully nudged him in the side before walking towards the house with a smiling Ron behind her.
"Come on! Dinner!"
Ron popped up from the couch and walked into the kitchen. Hermione was rubbing her hands on a towel when Ron came behind her and gently kissed her neck. She squealed with surprise and turned around sharply to look at Ron astonished.
"Ron! At least wait until after we eat," She grinned teasingly as she walked over to sit at the small table.
Ron rolled his eyes and followed her and sat down. Hermione took out her wand and tapped the table, making the chicken and potatoes appear along with the dishes and silverware.
"Ah, fantastic!" Ron immediately picked up and started shoveling it into his mouth. Hermione looked at him admiringly for a couple moments before she started eating herself.
They sat there in silence before Hermione brought up a strong conversation.
"Do you ever think we'll have a family?"
Ron stopped eating and paused, before looking up at his wife.
"A f-family?" His face seemed to go paler than Malfoy's at the topic. Hermione had to bite her lip to force herself not to laugh.
"Yes Ronald, a family. That's what married people usually have you know," She smiled while she reached to drink some of her water.
Ron avoided her gaze and looked around, "I'm not that stupid…" He muttered underneath his breath, as he took a sip from his water also.
"Come on, what would you name our children?"
Ron widened his eyes before spitting his water out on the floor.
"Children!" He looked at her astonished.
Hermione gave Ron an annoyed expression, "Well what did you think I meant by family? Dogs?" She asked sarcastically continuing to finish her food.
It took Ron a few moments before replying.
"I like the name Hugo!" He said with much confidence.
Hermione choked on her chicken as she grabbed for a napkin.
"Hu-" She paused to chough, "Hugo?" Hermione started laughing as she looked at Ron's serious face.
"Yeah, Hugo! Why? What's wrong with it?" He said sternly.
Hermione threw her napkin on her plate before answering, "A bit of an ugly name, don't you think?" She said.
"No, I don't think so."
"I'd name our daughter Rose, if we had one. Serene name, yeah?" Hermione proposed, changing the conversation from the horrid name of Hugo.
Ron muttered something before drinking his water again and Hermione rolled her eyes at him.
"When the time comes, we can name them whatever we want. Don't need to fret about it right now, honey," She said, patting his hand on the table. She started to grab the dishes and bring them to the sink before Ron had pulled out his wand and had cleaned the rest of the table.
"I'd rather start making a family now," He said, with a wink and grabbed her arms while leading her through the doorway. Hermione blushed furiously before hesitantly following him.
"Hugo," She muttered underneath her breath, "Never in a million years."
