Title: Shattered
Age rating: T
Pairings: Ciel/Mey-Rin
Summary: With the sound of glass, everything was shattered. Her soul, her heart, and the one thing she cherished most. Her glasses.

A step back was all I could manage as I heard the sound after knocking the table. It was not the sound of a bottle, or a wine glass... Realization was not immediate of what had happened, but when I looked my eyes widened. Large, circle-rimmed glasses had hit the floor, and the glass had been broken into shards. For many, it would be a case of 'buy a new pair', but it was a complicated tragedy for me. Those glasses had been smashed, leaving the pieces and unable to be fixed. And they had been a gift from the young master.

I cried, which most would see as pathetic. I felt my knees hit the ground, but it only blurred my vision of them as I got closer. It wasn't just the glasses that broke. It was also my heart.

Not his cold exterior, sarcasm or appearance had lured me to fall accidentally in love with the young master. His smarts, his ability to keep calm and his skills with a pen meant nothing to me. The reason I fell for him was his smile, not his smirk, but the face he made when he was genuinely happy. You could tell with him. He was beautiful and handsome, but the best thing about him had to be the smile. It was... warm.

He wore this smile when he gave me the glasses. An act of kindness? No. It was an act of crowning me his servant, but for me it was as much an honour as a marriage proposal, which was impossible due to his betrothal.

"Mey-Rin..." I heard, blushing and lifting my head to see him. It was blurred, but I could tell. "What did you break this time?" He moved a bit, but I couldn't tell. "I see. Here." A new pair of glasses landed on my face, and I saw that the young master was smiling, so I smiled back at him.

"Thank you, sir."
