Chapter One:
Current Time:
Davey held the frail, dying body of Jade in his hands. He knew he could end the pain Jade was feeling, end the fear of facing an unknown and untimely death. He could end all of Jade's agony and suffering; Jade knew as well.
"Please?" A pale hand grasped the tangled mess of David's hair as Jade's eyes implored him.
"No. I can't." Davey's voice was soft and hurt.
Tears welled up in those beautiful eyes. "I beg you, Davey. Please."
"No." His voice was harsher this time, more coldly.
"You tease me with your future of immortality as I lie on my death bed, David! Why do you torture me so?" Jade's voice cracked from the volume of his screams.
"I cannot condemn you with this curse, Jade." This time Davey's was sad, old.
Jade grinned maliciously, "But, Davey. It is not a curse." He sat himself on David's lap and nuzzled his neck. "It is a gift. It is what I want."
"I cannot."
Jade pulled away, disgusted, and stood. "Then, I condemn you to live sad and lonely for all of eternity." He coughed.
"That I shall, Jade."
That I shall.
