Chapter One: The Name

Disclaimer: Obviously, i do not own anything you recognize

A young Mrs. Emma Granger was in a hospital gown, flushed, holding a beautiful baby girl. Mr. Robert Granger, the father of the child, was discussing to the mother what they should name the baby.

"How about the name Emily?" Mr. Granger asked. The baby scrunched up her nose, as if to say "No." Mr. and Mrs. Granger laughed at the sight.

"Look at her! Barley a day old and she can understand us," Mrs. Granger said proudly.

"Well, I know I want her name to start with H," Robert told his wife.

"I saw an interesting play before I met you," Emma said. "And the main character's name was Hermione."

"That's perfect! Welcome to the family, Hermione Jean Granger." Robert said proudly, and kissed his new-born daughter on the fore head (they had decided on the middle name before the girl was even born-Jacob if it was a boy, and Jean if it were a girl).

"Have you two decided on the name of the baby?" The doctor asked.

"Yes," Robert said. "Hermione Jean Granger." The doctor nodded and went out of the room to put the name on a birth certificate. The doctor's assistant said,

"Mrs. Granger, you can go home today after lunch." Emma nodded happily and still was amazed she had a daughter. She was just so used to being pregnant with this little one… it was going to be hard to get used too.

This is going to be like a childhood fic of Hermione's life. Please review!
