Losing Sam had driven Leah over the edge.
For days, she wandered the forest directionlessly. Soon she found her way again and trudged home, depression still sinking in.
The mail truck pulled away from the Clearwater's mailbox. Hesitantly, Leah shoved her hand in and pulled out a letter from Emily, addressed to her mother. She yanked a thick announcement out with a black and white picture of her Sam and her cousin, Emily.
Her body trembled.
Miles away, Sam heard heartbroken howls over the sound of the waves crashing around him. An ashamed cry of his own escaped his lips.

This one is sad. I like writing sad drabbles though. .
