All right, so, this is just a cute little oneshot. Yes, I know it's kind of corny, and it's DEFINITELY late, but my friend Star29818 and I were having a oneshot contest. She wrote a Crowfeather/Feathertail that I think she'll post sometime today or maybe tomorrow. If she remembers (giggle) Anyways, I do not own Warriors, and enjoy!
She missed him.
She didn't think he missed her as much as she did him – or at all, even.
That got her. That got her bad. But, all the same, it didn't hurt quite as much as the thought that always came next. She tried not to think about it, she tried to brush it aside.
It never worked – she always thought it anyway.
Had he ever even loved her?
Had he just been playing a game? Or had he realized, once they were back in the Clans, that he never had?
"Stop glaring, it attracts attention." Leafpool nudged her.
"Sorry." Squirrelflight muttered, tearing her gaze away from Hawkfrost and Brambleclaw, thus ending her unwanted, miserable stream of thoughts.
She thought that every time she saw them at Gatherings. Down the exact words. She couldn't help it, there were no other words to describe how she felt.
While Leafpool was talking to Kestrelpaw, the WindClan medicine apprentice, Squirrelflight stole another glance at the two half-brothers.
Was it that hard to say 'I love you'? She wondered. If he really did, he wouldn't let this get in the way. She thought.
But then she contradicted herself. Yes, it was that hard. Harder even. She knew. Oh yes, she knew.
She knew neither of them was strong enough to say it.

She wailed inwardly, missing the warmth of his pelt pressed against hers.
Then the thought came: What happened?
Hawkfrost? No, that wasn't it. She knew the answer to that question.
She didn't know what happened.
She sighed.
She missed him.
