Disclaimer: As per the norm, I do not own Legend of Korra, nor any of it's characters. They belong to the wonderful Bryke.
Korra lay in bed and felt heavy. Her long, lean limbs pressed into the mattress and she felt like she might sink through it. If only. She heard the rest of the temple slowly wake up, as she was, and the noises of the day began anew. She groaned loudly and scrubbed at her eyes vigorously. She slowly pushed herself up into a sitting position so her legs dangled off the edge of the bed. She knew, she really did, that she needed to get up and start her day, otherwise Tenzin was going to jump down her throat, but sleep had been eluding her lately. Not that she was really complaining, mind you.
Finally, after what felt like ten years, she pushed herself up, wobbled then staggered into the bathroom. She heard a soft sound of protest behind her, but in the haze of her sleepless mind, she couldn't form a coherent response to it other than, "Unh."
She jerked her underwear down to her ankles and more fell than sat on the toilet. She propped her elbows on her knees and let out a long suffering sigh.
"Morning sunshine." Came a voice to her left. She turned her head slightly and glanced up at Bolin and even managed a slight smile.
"Morning." She muttered as he picked up his toothbrush and toothpaste and lazily began scrubbing at his teeth.
They sat in amiable silence for a moment, both as comfortable in the others presence like they had never been with another person before. Korra smiled to herself for a moment then huffed softly. Bolin glanced at her out of the corner of his eye and grinned around his toothbrush.
"You know, we really should use the night for sleeping." Korra muttered after another moment of silent contemplation.
"But I like what we're doing so much more." Bolin quipped back, causing the young woman to laugh softly. She cleaned herself up and pulled her panties back up to rest on her hips. She kissed Bolin on the cheek then swatted him on the ass as she sauntered past, causing him to sputter on his toothpaste.
"Yeah, I do too." She chuckled then disappeared around the corner with a swish of her hips and a flip of her hair.
Author's Note: Hello all! Just a short fiction to get myself back into the swing of things! And hopefully to whet your appetites for more stories! As always, all of my readers are greatly appreciated, whether you review or not. However, it's become of some truly wonderful reviews that I've decided to come back to and continue writing. So, to that end, thank you. I'll give proper responses when the next chapter of Elemental comes out! -wink-
