pokemon dan's journey

"Wake up! You don't want to be late for your first pokemon do you?" My mom said.

Hello my names dan, and I'm gonna get my first pokemon. I live in new bark town in the Johto region.

"Coming!" I said. I got dressed and ran downstairs.

"Can't wait right?" Mom asked.

"Yup!" I went over and got my backpack and pokegear.

I ate breakfast as fast as possible and ran to professor elm's lab. He greeted me there. "Ah dan, you're our first trainer today to start a journey, so you get to choose out of the three."

I already know who to choose. "Totodile" "Ok, here's your Pokémon, pokedex, and pokeballs." He gave the equipment to me. "Ready?"

"Yup!" I went out the door and after a goodbye to mom, I set out. I got out totodile's pokeball.

"Totodile, let's go!"

A flash of light and totodile was out.

(What? I'm having a nap here!) "You can have your nap later, let's introduce ourself. My names dan, and I'm your pokemon trainer." (What!? How did you understand me?)

I have the power to understand pokemon for some reason. I had it for as long as I can remember.

"It's just something I have, ok? I hope we will be good friends." I said.

(Well, good luck on that.)

"Whatever. Let's start simple. What's your name?"

(It's... Crista.) She said with a bit of a hesitation in her voice.

I looked at my map, and... "So, we are on route 29, and after that is mahogany town."

(Make sure you're going the right way.) "It's a really straightforward path anyways."

Then a pidgey went in my way. I got out my pokedex. "Pidgey is a Flying Pokémon. Among all the Flying Pokémon, it is the gentlest and easiest to capture. A perfect target for the beginning Pokémon Trainer to test his Pokémon's skills. Pidgey's Gust power creates tornadoes. It also has a Sand-Attack."

"Let's do this."

(OK then.)

I got out my pokedex and aimed it at Christa to find out her attacks. "Scratch, leer, and water gun." The pokedex said.

"Water gun!" A blast of water went out of Christa's mouth, which hit pidgey. The pidgey sent out a gust. "Dodge it!" She went to the right quickly and "Scratch!" She went up and hit the pidgey. The pidgey was really exhausted. "Great! Go pokeball!" I threw a pokeball at the pidgey. One, two... Yes three! "Yeah!"

Chapter 2

I threw the pokeball to let the new team member. (Wha- What the heck?) He said, confused. I kneeled down at him. "Hello, My name's Dan, and I'll be your trainer."

(What, oh great. Now I should have taken my parents' advice.)

"Huh? What are you talking about?"

(Perhaps it wasn't a good idea to catch him.) Christa said, frowning at me.

"You're right."

(Huh? I don- Wait what?! You can understand me?)

"Yeah, don't question me. I don't know either. I've had this for a long time." I explained.

He then looked at Christa. (And who are you?) He asked.

(My name is christa. Pleased to meet you.)

(Same here I guess.)

He flew up to my face. (Well this will be quite easier to explain since you can understand me somehow.)

"Yes true. What is your name anyway and are you sure you want to join me? I don't want to force capture of someone.)

(My name's Mike. I don't mind traveling with you, but can we go to my parents' nest? I'd promised to obtain something from them, but well...)

"Right. Let's go, I guess." I said.

Christa and I followed Mike to where his parents are. Apparently They lived in a fairly large tree. Christa attempted to climb the tree, but failed. I chuckled a little.

(What are you laughing at?) She growled.

"Nothing."

We watched as Mike and two pidgeots came down from above the tree.

(You must be my son's new trainer.) The female pidgeot said. I nodded.

"What was it that Mike wanted to obtain?" I asked.

They looked slightly surprised, possibly because I called Mike by his real name instead of his species name.

(We gave him a mysterious stone that he found years ago, he is going to go on a journey to find out what it does.)

Just then, I saw a dark colored stone on Mike. "Ah, alright."

Mike gave me the stone. (Take care of it for me.)

"Right." I put it in my pocket to see if I can take it to professor Elm. "I Guess we will leave for now." I said, getting ready to leave.

(Hold on.) The male pidgeot stopped me. He gave a small basket made of some twigs holding some oran berries. The top was securely closed and not hard to open. (Some food to help you out.)

(Thanks dad.) Mike said. I attached it to a clip on my backpack. "Alright thanks. I'll take good care of your son, I promise."

(We're counting on it. Visit every once in a while.) Mike gave both his parents a hug. (See you sometime, mom and dad.)

The two parents went back up to their tree while I went back on the path. "So, Which of you would like to be out your pokeball for a while?" I asked the two.

(Yeah sure.) (Of course.)

(Why though? Not that I'm complaining.) Christa asked.

"An old friend told me that bonding with your pokemon is made easier by letting them out their pokeballs." I explained.

(Ah)

I walked to mahogany town with Christa and Mike following.

Chapter 3

After a few hours of training around route 29 and progressing, I've finally gotten to mahogany town.

"Finally." I said, "Now to get to the pokemon center."

I found the pokemon center relatively quick, as this wasn't a very big town. "Nurse joy, can you do a quick check-up on my pokemon?" I handed her my pokeballs containing Christa and Mike.

"Alright." She put them on a tray and gave it to Chansey to heal. "Are you here to compete in the Johto league?"

"Ah, yes." I handed Nurse Joy my pokedex. She put it in a machine and pulled it out after a few seconds. "Alright. Looks like you're officially registered for the league. Good luck!"

"Alright. Thanks." I retrieved my pokedex and put it in my pocket.

A few minutes later, Nurse Joy called me. "Dan! your pokemon's ready!" Nurse Joy said.

"Your pokemon's all healed and ready." She put the trays with my pokeballs on the counter.

"Thanks."

I was tired and requested for a room.

After getting to my room, I called mom to tell her I got to mahogany town and went to sleep.

The next day, I got to a phone to call professor elm to tell him I got to mahogany.

"Ah great. However, there is something wrong." He said.

"Hm? What happened?"

"The last pokemon got stolen."

I got surprised.

"What?! What about the other?"

"Luckily, there were only 2 trainers including you getting their pokemon this year."

I breathed a sigh of relief. "Do you know anything about the thief?"

"No, but I think I have a suspect. Lyra said she saw a unfamiliar red haired person staring into the window of my lab this morning."

"Alright. I'll see if I can find this person." Lyra is a friend that's a year younger than me, so she couldn't obtain a pokemon yet.

"Thanks! By the way, the other trainer just got her pokemon and wanted to travel with you, is that fine?"

"Eh... Sure, I guess. What's her name?"

"Her name's Sherryl. She might be arriving soon... ah, there she is, over at the counter!" I looked behind me to see a girl talking to nurse joy, showing her pokedex. After she registered for the league, she noticed us and came here.

"Hey! Are you Dan?" She asked.

She greeted professor Elm.

"Yeah, I am. I assume you're Sherryl?"

"Yeah."

"I guess we're traveling companions from now then."

"You accepted the offer?"

"Yeah." I smiled, "But why?"

"Because it's better with at least 2 people, the more the marrier, isn't it?"

"True."

"Alright, since you two are ready, I've a request for you two."

"Hm?" "What sort of request?" We both said.

"There's a person near the end of route 30 named Mr. Pokemon. He has a thing he wants to give to you two."

"Ah, that sounds interesting." I had heard about Mr. Pokemon multiple times from professor Elm.

We said our farewells and hung up.

I took my pokeballs and released my pokemon. "Guys, it seems we have a new traveling companion." I said as I pointed to Sherryl. "This is Sherryl."

"Ah, I should be showing my pokemon." Sherryl said as she threw her pokeballs to reveal a chikorita and a hoothoot. "This is Mina and Jake."

I knelt down to the two pokemon. "Hello, my name's Dan."

"He's gonna be traveling with us."

(Nice to meet you.) the two of them said.

"Lets go to the nearby table, shall we?" I said with the others agreeing.
