A/N: Hello to all who dare set their sights on my writing. I am CPU Sublime Heart, the first ruler of Eden, original Omni-King of the multiverse, I have lived for eternity and more, but I realize just how little of my life the common folk know. Because of this, I have started writing epics about me and my spawns lives. This such story is about my great-great-great-great-I-don't-know-how-many-greats-there-are-grandson, Arcturus. Alright. I'm going to cut the BS here. Hello to you guys, I have not been uploading in a long time but finally, here I am. I know I said that I would update in a couple weeks like two years ago, but shit happened, I got in trouble with the police because I did something stupid again (Wow no surprise there). But I'm back now. When I upload the first chapter(Not counting this one), I will have written at least thirty-odd chapters of 10k length for you guys. And don't worry, it will be great quality I assure you. Before I was writing on my phone, with only a limited editing ability, but now I have finally pleaded and gained the time of day from my mother to write on our computer. Not only that, I have also gained a laptop for writing for my b-day. With this out of the way, let me explain how this will work. Right now, I am writing a background story of sorts for a project my friend Fightingrr and I have been working on for years. So basically in this story, Salem was much different, instead of being immortal, she took the bodies of people to live longer, similar to a Geist-type Grimm. She is also much weaker in this story due to her inability to use much magic, and unlike when she fought Ozma, her bodies also do not regenerate, she instead just turns into a wisp of fog and must find a new host. Other than that, her story is pretty much the same. Now on to the make or break part of this story. Ruby is the current host of Salem. In Yang's story about when she went to find her mother in the forest and found the house full of Grimm, Ruby was taken before Qrow could arrive. For a time, Qrow and Taiyang did search for Ruby, but they never even found a clue, just a single rose petal that they put in a picture frame, for it never dissipated. From this, Yang lost much of her humor, and Qrow drinks even more that usual. The story will still progress in about the same, showing that the world just keeps on going without us. But this will come in due time, because this story takes place two years before volume one. The canon part is also being worked on by Fightingrr and me, but won't be ready for release for a few months after this story is first released. Now bear with me here, just believe me when I say that I screamed at Fightingrr when he proposed this idea, but then I calmed once I realized where this was going, so just relax and read.
Prologue: Just the Summary
Remnant. A magical world full of heroes and monsters, Hunters and Grimm. This fairy-tale world is inhabited by three races, Humans, Faunus, and Elves. Two of these, you may already know, but one doesn't seem to light any familiar light in your eyes. Ah, yes, the Elves, I should've known you wouldn't know about them. What's that? You want to know more about these Elves? Make yourself comfortable, 'cause this is going to be a long ride.
Well, to know their story, one must journey back thousands of years ago. Remnant was a much different place back then. It was full of chivalry and knights protecting huge castles from monsters. Princesses trying to earn the approval of a prince. Soaring mountains gave way to roaring waterfalls, lush forests and beautiful prairies dominated the land. There were mines for dust and farms for food. But... this paradise was not such a paradise for all. You see, my young one, the humans of this time were not the most open minded of individuals. Most humans did not appreciate the presence of faunus, and saw them as less that human, mindless beasts full of malice and animal instinct. Although this was mostly the case, some saw the faunus as beings perfect for experimentation. One such experiment in particular was called Project "Purification".
You see, Project "Purification was about trying to "Purify" the faunus by injecting large amounts of dust of all kinds into faunus, and then forcing them to reproduce, and then repeat the same with their children, effectively creating a forced evolution. The result after about three hundred years was baffling. Most of the legacies, who were the children of the original faunus, had lost their faunus traits, and had instead gained pointed ears. By this time, there were several dozen testing facilities, all with similar results. What more, the newly dubbed "Elves" could control and absorb dust into their bodies, almost like magic. One day, the head research facility, code named "Kάtharsi", was infiltrated by a single man of legendary power. He was known as the great wizard Ozma. Ozma released all three thousand of the "Elves" into the forests of Remnant. The government couldn't search for the elves without raising suspicion from the public. Because of how they were infiltrated so easily the head council in charge of the experiments decided to shut down the main facility and use one of the lesser equipped compounds instead. Since then, there has been thousands of sightings and legends built around Elves and their mysterious ways.
Those who have been sighted are always shrouded in suspicion. They would only appear to save a being from utter destruction but would vanish without a trace. Those who saw them were never the same, talking about magic, sometimes even about elves with wings. The common folk treated elves as fairy-tales, historians as anomalies, and to the ones they freed from an untimely demise, Gods.
