A/N: Recently, I've been rewatching Magi with both my mum and two of my friends, so I've been thinking a lot about Judal, and what he and Hakuryuu are up to and pretty much just trying to gather my own thoughts in general! *Laughs* But of course the second my muse finally returns from its hiatus, I'm trying to go to sleep... So while this could be a lot longer, this is all I could think to say at like 12:30 AM. Also if I continued it probably would have gotten unnecessarily shippy and I would have been up too late and all that fun stuff.
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Judal, Judal, and Judal with like very spare mentions of Hakuryuu.

He wasn't lying, when he said that his past didn't bother him.
True, it had been... Crippling at first, but that was only natural. He didn't really mind the lifestyle Al-Thamen had led him into - after all, it's not like he didn't enjoy wreaking havoc, nor did he mind stumbling upon people with strength that could truly rival his own, such as Sinbad. Maybe it was thanks to the slaughter of his parents that he lived this way, but he was still having fun, right? Al-Thamen had never failed to give him what he wanted, so... Whatever.
But when he sees Hakuryuu for the first time since the Fourth Prince had left for Sindria, somehow just accepting Al-Thamen's treatment of him doesn't hold the same appeal as it had before.
Perhaps somewhere deep, deep inside of him, he understands Hakuryuu. Perhaps somewhere deep, deep inside of him, he's been waiting for an ally who would be just as ruthless towards Al-Thamen as he should be. Perhaps somewhere deep, deep inside of him, he despises the fact that he's a pawn, too.
But for the most part (or at least, that's what Judal convinces himself), the idea of throwing Al-Thamen and even the Kou Empire into the turmoil that Judal had come to crave is thrilling - challenging, even - and thus Judal finds himself offering his hand.
